A look back at our Spring Break

Hello everyone !

Life is slowly getting back to normal around here. 2 weeks ago was Spring Break for us.  We took advantage of our week of freedom from school, sports, ect. and took a Road Trip to visit Grandma and Grandpa.

We stopped for Chocolate Dipped ice cream cones and also a sit in this BIG rocking chair. It was so fun. This particular rocking chair has been there as long as I can remember. So I have pictures in this chair, and so do my kids.

We made it to Grandmas house safe and sound and got right to work having fun. The kids were outside ALOT. The weather was beautiful for it being April.

They did lots of this. And a lot more exploring the "Forest" as the kids call it.

I was in love with the signs of Spring all over the city. The trees were blossoming with color, flowers were popping out here and there. But the mix of these peach tree(grandpa's peach tree)Spring Buds combined with the Snowy Mountains in the background was my favorite.

I got to go out by myself and do some "Easter shopping" and found myself downtown one afternoon. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to grab some take out from one of our favorite local places. YUMMY !!

I want to thank my father again for taking the kids one afternoon so that Grandma, a friend of ours, and I could go down to the local scrapbook store and "PLAY". He took them to a local kid friendly place with animals, train rides, ect. I haven't yet got pictures back from him. But it was really nice to sit down with friends and family and scrapbook. I have not done that in a long time. So much fun and will need to do it again when I'm in town.

I was able to finish up a layout and then get a good start on this one. Which I will share tomorrow !

Being Easter Weekend we heading down to a BIG Easter Celebration. There were egg hunts, face paintings, cow wagon rides, games, the Easter Bunny sightings, and even pony rides.

Easter morning was really great. It was definitely different, being at Grandmas house. The good news was the Easter Bunny found us. Katelyn's basket was in the washer.

The Easter Bunny was kind enough to bring bubbles.

That was our Spring Break.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another Project Life layout !! Also, I am now going to start my tutorial. I'm going to start my week 8 and will walk you through my whole process !! I think I will break it up into 2 parts. That way it will be easier for me.

Have a great day everyone !

Project Life Week 7

Welcome to week 7.  Valentine's week.

I wanted to pop in today for a quick post and share my week 7.  Spring Break is here for us ( In the present day). We are heading up to visit my parents for the rest of the week and Easter. I must hurry because I still have to pack my things up !! EEEK.

I went a little more simple this week. I really would like to get more weeks done. Most of the photos are from Valentine's Day.

Here is my title page. I went with the kind of collagey' look. The card is from the Studio Calico PL kit. I cut into some of the ticket part so that I could place my photo underneath and turned out great.

My first blog post on the Simple Stories blog. I had to put that in my PL !!

Journaling cards.

The blue card can be found in the Studio Calico digital shop.

This one I used the 14 from the Color theory cards from Studio Calico. Oh dear, just caught my big mess up on this one. Will have to fix it. Should be easy enough. Darn it.

My first Maxi skirt.

Sochi Olympics makes it's first debut in the album. Might add more, not sure yet.

Sorry it is so short. I really must run.

If you have any questions or comments please leave them and I will answer. Have a wonderful rest of the week. I will be back next week.

Take care. Until next time.

Simple Stories/Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop

Hello everyone. I am so excited to be apart of the Simple Stories and Perfect Paper Crafting Blog Hop today over at Simple Stories. Click the link here to check it all out.

Here is my finished layout. I had so much fun using the Simple Stories Travel SN@P Set. So many fun things, stickers, and cards.

I received the Perfect Tears tool and boy was it great. It tore even the tiny journaling cards with ease. Included with the package of 3 tear tools was the water pen. You go over the edge of the paper with the water pen and it is so easy to tear the paper. Loved it ! Click here to check out all their cool tools. They also have matting tools.

Here is what the tool looks like along side some of my supplies.

The first page. This layout was all about our weekend getaway to San Pedro.

Once I saw the hotel stationary I knew that I had to get a picture of it for my title card. Yes, call me crazy !! I added the title and the date in photoshop and added the rest of embellishments.

Patrick was working down in San Pedro and so we went with him for the weekend. We checked in and settled in to our room. All 5 of us plus 3 stuffed animals of course. (left to right - Pony, Fluffy, and Husky) No, I did not name them.

Journaling card with some torn papers. Love it !

We visited my Brother and Sister-in law while we were down that way. We took a walk to a neighborhood pizzeria.

A fun and very fitting filler card. We got lost a few times over the course of the trip, no thanks to my maps app built in to my phone. Thanks apple !

A numbered recap of a few of the things we did over the weekend.

This was our view overlooking the marina in our room. Removed the journaling space from this card and put in a photo.

Dinner at an amazing BBQ place called Porky's BBQ. Nom, Nom.

The second page.  This particular page protector was so fun to use. It has a 2x12 strip on the side that I added the 2x2 square pieces to and a few photos. It is part of the Simple Stories Variety Pack.

Just take my word for it, BEWARE of Friday the 13th !! It started with bad luck and kept getting worse !

The other card was fun to put together. Lots of layers and tearing of paper.

The kids insisted on swimming in the pool, even though it was soooo cold. I watched and relaxed from the lounge chair poolside.

Click. Photo took on our coast drive on the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway).

This card was for my extra journaling that I needed to fit in.

That's a wrap on my Simple Stories Travel layout. Thanks for looking !!

The Weekend Lens

Hello everybody !!

Last weekend the kids and I took a little road trip to visit my Brother and Sister-in law.  They had purchased their first house down by the coast a few months ago and we have been trying to get down there ever since.

Here we are in the driveway about to take off.

I have to say that we had a grand old time. Lots of lounging around for me, playing for the kids. They have a dog, and of course that's all the kids wanted to do. We did manage to sneak in a trip to the beach, a shopping trip at ikea, a quick trip to the local scrapbook store for me ( I don't have one in town anymore), movies at night with peanut butter waffles topped off with ice cream and chocolate sauce, it was heaven.

The kids played with chalk on the driveway all weekend. Courteous of their aunt and uncle.

Playing with the dog was #1 on the priority list.

We enjoyed an afternoon at the beach. Even though it was a little cold that didn't stop the kids from playing in the water.

The kids would run into the water, splash around for a half second and then run right out ! It was hilarious to watch.

Me and Noah made an awesome Sand Castle.

Ta Da !! I promise, I do feed this kid ! All day, every day.

Noah was the official rock miner for the sand castle.

When it was done the kids named it Rock Mountain.

Maddie decided she needed a sand castle.

We made time to BBQ. It was super delicious.

It was so nice to get away from real life for a few days. This past week I was under the weather. Exhausted, body aches, ect. So needless to say I didn't get much done.

I did manage to finish a Simple Stories assignment and I had sooooooo much fun !! Stay tuned next week as I will share the whole layout with you and on the Simple Stories blog. Until then here is a sneak peak !

I am also almost done with week 7. I was hoping to finish it last week but did not. I will share some time this week !!

* Also - I am still planning on doing my tutorial for you all. I promise !! Will start on it soon.

Have a great day everyone !!
