Hey there !
Thought I would pop in today, real quick, and share a layout that I did for my Design Team assignment ( For my local scrapbook store called Simply Scrapbooks).
It is all about Mother's Day. I managed to get a few semi decent photos of me and the kids this year.
There were two that were the best and I decided to include them both on the 1 page layout.
For the life of me I can't remember what the manufacturer was for the paper and some of the embellishments. I also used some items I had in my stash.
How is everyone's summer going so far ? My kids were out of school last Friday. We have been staying very busy so far. Many trips to the splash pads for lunch and water fun. We are planning on hitting the pool this weekend as it is supposed to be 105 degrees !!
I have another week of PL to share. Hopefully I can get to it in the next couple days, so keep a look out.
Have a great rest of the week and the weekend if I don't pop in before then !!
HAPPY SUMMER !!
P.S. Has anyone been lucky enough to find some PL in their local Hobby Lobby or local scrapbook store yet ? We don't have a HB yet, supposedly soon !! I'm patiently waiting until it comes in next week to my local scrapbook store. It will be really exciting to see it on the wall !! I am planning on picking up one of the children's mini kits. Just have to decide which one !! Wish me luck. Until next time.

6 yrs Layout
I recently did this layout for a design team assignment. These photos were taken last summer and I wanted to get down some info about Katelyn at that age. It was really hard for me to remember some details even know. I have got to remember to write things down at the time. Mental note - write things down more often.
The paper and products are mostly from the new Lilybee designs. I loved the colors and thought that they would be a good fit with the photos.
I wanted to use both photos on the layout and didn't much room for journaling when everything came together. So I used one of the Lilybee design journaling cards for my journaling spot. On the top I added a brush from Ali Edwards . I also needed to include the year somewhere, so I added the number 2011 using October Afternoon letters. When all that was figured out I added my journaling and printed it straight on to the journaling card.
In the end I love how it turned out and am glad to have some of the tidbits that I could remember about my sweet baby girl.
Stay tuned tomorrow. I have another week of PL finished and photographed. I just need to edit the photos and write the post. Have a great weekend everyone.
One last thing. A shout out to my two football teams. Go UTES and go 49ers !!! I love football season.

A Day In The Life Layout
I am really enjoying being on the design team at the local scrapbook store here in town. It gives me just the right amount of opportunity to create "Traditional Scrapbook layouts". And I do love to do regular layouts along with my Project Life. Since I am such a slow scrapbooker it takes me forever to finish a layout !! So I really don't have time to do that many of them these days.
So I wanted to share a layout of my kids at the Utah State Fair back in 2010. They have this exhibit for the kids to go and pretend to be farmers. They gather eggs, milk the cows, plant and harvest vegetables. I am working on finishing up some of the layouts that I had planned into my PL album from that year.
HERE IT IS : CLICK TO MAKE LARGER.
I am off now to check some things on my to do list tonight while the children are sleeping !!

Project Life Week 30
Two things about this week.
#1. I had so much fun playing with the digital Project Life elements. The digital journaling cards have made my life so much easier when it comes to journaling on my cards now. I am in heaven !! And also all the extra digital elements are going to be so fun to play with and easily add to my journaling cards. ( As you will see below). I plan on purchasing all the extra digital elements in the future because it think they will add so much variety to my album. They are all great and you can easily change the colors of them !! SO MUCH FUN!!
#2. I didn't go completely crazy with my embellishments this week. I realized that I want to try and get this album finished because December is knocking on the door and then the new year is here. I am happy with the end result and just want to get caught up, some how. Some way. So I am really going to try hard to do that. Easier said than done though with the holidays coming.
Here is the first page :
This first picture is of me in the drivers seat. I have spent a lot of time in that seat lately, looking back at the kids while driving up to Utah. Added journaling to the bottom.
The next one is of the two girls in the hot tub. Little did we know that it would be the last hot tub "swim", because Grandpa tore down the hot tub this fall.
The next picture is of the girls playing with their new Littlest Pet Shop house I found at a local thrift shop that afternoon. They sat out all night and played with it.
The journaling cards
Used a Maya Road tag with some road trip stickers I had. The red date tag is from a jillibean soup die cut sheet that I found at my local scrap store and I have used quite a bit of it this week. Love it and want to buy all the sheets that they have. Here is a link http://store.scrapbook.com/js-jbd5519.html.
Jenni Bowlin place sticker.
Mentioned this freebie in one of the freebie posts. Love this quote/saying and printed it out onto cardstock. Added a brush from Ali Edwards this is the life brush set. Click here for the saying.
Littlest Pet Shop circle saved from a recent Littlest Pet Shop purchase. Cut and put on the journaling card.
Now onto my extra pages. I had a lot of them. A lot going on this week.
I need to get some of those white tabs from Home depot to go on the sides of some of my inserts. That way people, and myself will know to flip them over and not just skip over them when going through the album.
This one I just took a regular page protector and cut it in half. We took a trip to Liberty Park. They have a wonderful water play area for the kids.
The pictures : Had to have a talk with Maddie and she had to sit with me till her lunch was done.
Brush from Ali Edwards Embrace the everyday brush set.
Journaling card. This one I had some fun playing with the digital elements from Becky Higgins. Used the ruler, and border. The word summer came from Ali Edwards Summer rocks brush set. The word tradition came from Ali Edwards holiday words set.
Here is the other side of the first extra page.
The pictures :
Packed a lunch for us.
Journaling card. Pretty simple card. Used a border across the top from the digital elements from the turquoise kit.
This next extra page was all about Maddie and I. We took the trax train downtown to Salt Lake City to visit my friend Kim for lunch. It was really nice to take Maddie along and have some one on one time with just her. We visited Temple Square ( It is the site of the LDS Temple). The grounds are beautiful and they have flowers, fountains, water features everywhere surrounding the Temple.
I used one of the new "Plastics". This one is definitely my favorite.
Pictures. This one is one that I took of Maddie playing Angry Birds on my phone on the train trip.
Kim and I that I had Maddie take. Didn't turn out to well so I had to turn it black and white. Added journaling to the side.
Maddie.
Journaling card. I picked up some these Jillibean soup cardstock stickers and they are great from PL Journaling cards. I bought them all. Here is a link to the days of the week sticker sheet. Click here . I used one of them for the top of the card. For the bottom I used one of the digital elements again. Love these!
Also included our train ticket in the other pocket.
Other side.
No journaling cards on this side just pictures.
Brush from Ali Edwards This one brush set
I added two 5x7's next from the photo shoot. One of my favorites. Brush from Ali Edwards photo love. Took an 8x8 page protector and cut the top off a little and still have to stitch it.
I love to add big pictures in my album. It makes a big statement. So I picked my favorite picture from the photo shoot and cropped it to 12x12. Printed it at home and put it in the album.
The other side I used for a layout of the kids. I used Ali Edwards December daily template for my base page. Took the christmas stuff off and added my own element in the middle of the page. I love the hybrid look of scrapbooking. First I printed the border and circle element onto cardstock. Printed the pictures, cut them out and put them on the cardstock. Added my other embellishments from my stash and all done.
The last of the extra pages is next. My previous photographer and I have been doing trades for the past two years. Since I was in Utah I called her and scheduled us a photo shoot. I used the same "Plastics" as before and love it.
Pictures. Brush from Ali Edwards This one set.
Journaling card.
Other side.
Journaling card. Took the circle element from Ali Edwards Photo Love set and resized to overlap my journaling card. Changed the color to match Katelyn's shirt.
Here is the second page of the week.
Patrick took this shot while out on a job. I always like to include him in the book as much as I can.
This is Patrick pointing to the coil that is on the truck. They send the coil down the oil well. I journaled and put that on top of the photo.
Grandpa's bugs that he had saved for the kids.
Journaling cards. Used a half a circle from the Jillibean soup diecut cardstock sheet. The brush is from Ali Edwards Life In Pictures brush set.
Used a thick marker to make a divider line on this journaling card. Added the arrow from the extra digital elements kit. The word outdoors is from Ali Edwards Go outside brush set.
Used this tag from the Jillibean soup diecut cardstock sheet. The butterfly is also from that sheet. The word Granpa is from Ali Edwards family words. Used the border from the extra digital elements available from Jessica Sprague.
Well that is the end of that week. Wow !! I really had fun with that one and look forward to doing some different things this next week. It is also a huge week.
Anyone gearing up for December Daily. I can't wait. I am not in the least bit ready for it this year. There sure a lot of good inspiration already. But I am still very excited about the special Christmas memories that I can document. Thinking about doing a quick review post of my DD album from last year. Some of you have requested it. So we shall see if I can get it done tomorrow.
Take care now.

Project Life Week 28
Here is the first page :
The pictures are here :
The museum was hosting a pirate night. We went on a treasure hunt, earned treasure, and made pirate hats.
They have a magnetic wall at the museum that you can make your own dinosaur.
Pirate treasure.
Journaling cards :
For this one I found a tree clipart added it to the card. Put the journaling circle on top, added journaling and printed. The circle came from here. This site mentioned in the last post is full of free pdf's that can be printed or added to your journaling cards.
They dressed some of the dinosaurs up in pirate gear.
This card talks about our week at grandmas house. The journaling label can be found here. The getaway word on the label is part of a set of words found here.
This one is a card on a sheet of pdf's that I sized to fit the journaling card space. Found on this page here. Added some free pirate clip art.
This is a 12x12 layout that I did about my daughter Maddie. The template with the questions on is from Cathy Z at designer digitals. Added the heart and the love you from Ali Edwards love embellishments kit. Used some Fancy Pants paper and stickers that I had in my stash.
I had found some free actions for photoshop and decided to try them out on these pictures of Maddie. Here is the link to the page where I downloaded the action. Never used actions before and still want to find some good ones.
The second page :
This picture is of Maddie in the corn field at Wheeler Farm. The brush is from Ali Edwards You word art. I just used some of the brush and not all and moved the pieces around to fit my picture better.
Iphone picture of the cousins together. Two live in Montana and three live in California. Just happened to be in Utah at the same time.
The kids had a major water fight in the hot tub one day. Maddie's face cracks me up, she is ready for battle.
The Journaling cards:
Tickets from the Zoo in the first slot.
That week I got a letter in the mail that said that both of my layouts received 2nd place in the California State Fair !! See the orange on the card, yeah Noah was trying to "HELP" me !! Oh well, that is real life. It was all done and I was not about to do it again !! Added the slip of paper that came with the letter on the journaling card.
I used the journaling label that is on the top from this page . Changed the color in photoshop. Added an outlined memory brush from Ali Edwards. Cut it up and seperated it and colored in one of the words. Love the look. I printed out the label and put in on my card. The word cousins is from Ali Edwards family word set.
Maddie with a messy hand at grandma's house. I think it was from raspberries. Can't remember for sure.
Still am working on the two extra layouts to add to this week. Love how I can still do my layouts that I love to do and just add them straight into my album.
Plan on doing a post about some great links, freebies, and other great things that you can use in your PL album early next week. Stay tuned. Hope your weekend was great !!
