December 2015 Highlights

Hello everybody ! 

Is it really almost Christmas ? Yikeees. I have been busily doing this and that around here. 

I wanted to share some pages I put together for my last Project Life Creative Team assignments. Where did this year go ?  I am very sad that my time is ending but am so very thankful for this wonderful opportunity. 

Every year I make a December Daily album to document the month of December. To go along with that I usually make a couple regular Project Life pages. This year will be no different. I've already done a few using mostly the new Heidi Swapp value kit called Oh What Fun Christmas. I tried to look for it locally here but couldn't find it so I printed it out from the digital version. 

Here is what both pages look like. I love the simpleness of it with a hint of gold here and there. 

I combined some of my favorite moments from the early part of the month. 

This title card is from the Heidi Swapp Oh What Fun Christmas kit. I added the 2015 for the year, the star, and the stamp at the top. 

I recently stopped in to Starbucks to get one of their pastry bags to use in my December Daily album. They have these cute snowman cookies so I had to get one. 

The journaling card summarized what these pages are about. I wanted to add a touch of gold to match the title card. I used the silkscreen from Ali Edwards Story kit and it turned out perfect.  

Here is the bottom part of the first page. A friend and I went out for some shopping and one of the stores had an amazing Christmas window display. I wanted to move in. 

Another look. A photo of the three kids from our family photo shoot. 

We went to have breakfast with Santa the first week of December. I added the believe stamp to the bottom of this journaling card.

Moving on to the second page. Filled with twinkle lights, and more photos from our photo shoot. 

I had some fun during our photo shoot. I added the word merry from the digital kit. I love how it helps tie in the gold theme. 

I added in this big journaling card to help bring the whole story together. It tells some fun details about how we are celebrating this December.  I added some more of the gold specks from the silkscreen I talked about above. 

Our elf Harry is such a fun part of our December that I wanted to make sure that I included him in our families story. He is helping Katelyn with her math homework. 

I love this christmas tree journaling card. I believe it is from the Stampin Up Seasons snapshot 2015 kit. I added the magic phrase from Ali Edwards magic story kit and a star on the top to finish it off. 

I added a fun filler card and a picture of me getting the twinkle lights out.

Halloween Highlights 2013

Hi guys !

I wanted to check in and share some pages that were shared on the Becky Higgins Creative Team blog post yesterday. They are part of the Creative Team October blog post. If you haven't checked it out yet please do, I am constantly amazed at the talent that the team produces every month. Here is the link.

With Halloween right around the corner I have been inspired to do some Halloween pages. I have already completed Halloween week from 2013 but there were some photos that I had not scrapped yet.

For these pages I used the Becky Higgins Halloween Themed cards. I downloaded them digitally and then printed them out. Purchasing digital cards is a great option if you don't have access to the physical cards but want to use them right away. I love it and do this often.

This is my title card. I started out with the digital card, adding some number stickers, a rub on from my stash and a stamp. I love when I can use up my stash.

Back in 2013 we had a neighborhood/friend Halloween party. The kids still talk about it and ask to do another one each Halloween. We made some fun treats, played Halloween bingo, musical chairs, ect.
The first journaling card talks about our party. The next photo is some of our new Halloween decorations. Although they might not be to exciting, we are slowly building our stash.

The Halloween Themed cards have lots of cute cards. Lots of filler cards like the black polka dot card here.

One photo of the punch bowl. The kids were very specific on what kind of treats they wanted. They helped plan everything.

This particular year I managed to get some photos of the kids in their costumes. Last year, not so much. Mental note this week : TAKE THE KIDS OUT TO GET SOME PHOTOS IN THEIR COSTUMES.

We also had a cute kitty cat and a Sofia The First princess.

I used this pumpkin journaling card and added some wooden arrows. I love how they point to both side, because I love both of these pictures.

 I needed to add some more journaling. So I added a 4x6 Journaling card in. I left it simple with just a few rub ons and embellishments.

One last journaling card. This one was one of my favorites out of the pack. I added some journaling

at the bottom and a simple chipboard piece to the top.

Let's Hit The Road

Hello everyone !!

I'm back with you today sharing a few pages that were part of the Becky Higgins Creative Team inspiration for August. You can find all of the Creative Teams pages and inspiration on Becky's Blog Post Here.

Let's get started shall we.

Back in August, right before me and the kids went on vacation, I booked us a hotel room down by the beach in Ventura. It was kind of a last minute let's go for the weekend kind of a thing ! I love those kind don't you.

Here is a look at both sides.

I decided to stay simple. The title card is from the Midnight edition. Most of the other cards are from the September Skies edition.

The first day we drove down to the beach, parked the car and then started walking down to the water. The skies were not looking so inspiring at the time but we thought we would be safe. Well, on our way down to the water it started sprinkling, then a total downpour. We all got drenched ! Thank goodness for hotel laundry is all I can say.

After getting all wet we drove over to the hotel to check in. The rain continued all afternoon and we hung out in the hotel room. Eventually the rain did settle down and I took the kids down to the pool for a swim.

The next day was beautiful. The sun came out to say hi, and we were so grateful.

While down by the beach we happened upon some family sized bicycles for rent. We rented one for an hour. We had a whole ton of family fun, making memories. That is what it's all about. All the kids
took a turn driving and it was sure a great workout.

I printed out this 4x6 journaling card from the Stampin Up Moments Like These collection.

On our drive down we stopped on the side of the road to check directions. It happened to be across the road from an orange orchard. What's a girl to do ?!  Well you get your big camera out and go snap a few pictures of course.

I used Design A and Design G page protectors for this project. I am so happy that I got the chance to get these memories documented using Project Life.

Spring Break | Week 14

Hello everybody !!

Man, I bet you all thought I had forgotten about blogging right ?!! Well, you are half right. I really had good intentions.

Let's get to the sharing shall we. It might be short but here we go.

This is week 14. Also known as Spring Break.

I want to try and get some of the early weeks blogged soon.

My parents came down to spend the week with us. We had an amazing week.

I used the Project 52 Core kit for this week. This card is a speciality card that I printed from the digital kit. I added a few wood stars and called it done.

This week we worked on the pool, the weather was amazing.

I added a photo onto the 4x6 card and added the star overlay from the PL desktop kit. I journaled a little about Katelyn on this card.  She practically lived in her cat ears all week.

A few fun swimming photos from the week and a journaling card about getting the pool ready for swimming season.

Let's move on to the second page.

Grandma and the kids made chick cupcakes for Easter.

A lunch date with the hubby and some spring flowers.

More beautiful flowers. Tulips are my favorite.

An ice cream date with just us girls.  And a fun sign that we saw while eating dinner.

Spring Family Photo Shoot

Every Spring the Almond Groves around our neighborhood bloom like nobody's business.  It is so beautiful to watch.

These pages were part of this months Becky Higgins Creative Team Inspiration on her blog. 

Since moving to California I have taken the kids over several times to get photos in the orchards. This year I really wanted to get some family shots. It took three different tries on three separate days, some bribery, and some close weather watching but we made it happen.

Although the weather conditions were less than ideal, the lighting was bad, the clouds kept coming in and out, I am so happy with the photos that I was able to get. We even got rained out, leaving us less than 30 minutes in the orchards. Oh well. Here is to better planning next year.

This is the left side of my spread. I made a fun and simple title card. The card and the geotag are from the new Becky Higgins Embossed Value Kit.

Have you all noticed that gold is EVERYWHERE right now. I am usually not a huge gold fan but it's really growing on me. I sprinkled a little gold here and there throughout my pages.

The love you below the photo of all of us is actually a gold foiled photo overlay. There is also gold in the arrow that is on the journaling card.

I hate to admit this but these pages took me a little bit longer to put together than I would have liked. But I am totally not complaining. In the beginning I think I had too many photos. Since they all look alike, sort of anyways, with all the green and white from the trees. I decided that I need to break up the photos with something. I moved things around, added in some color, and even broke up the photos with some patterned paper. The end result is something that I am most proud of.

A little bit more gold on the photo overlay in the bottom left corner. Gotta love it baby !

This is the second page, or the right side. More fun photos and of course more gold.

Here is another example of breaking things up. First with the 4 small photos of Noah. I added them to a journaling card from the Jade Edition. Not sure why he looks like a white albino kid here in these photos but oh well. It was probably user error, as I am not a professional photographer ! I have to admit that I am still working on my photography skills. Just this past January I have been working with Manual mode and trying to figure all this stuff out.

Another example of trying something different. This big photo really breaks everything up and it turned out perfect.

Can I just say how hard gold is to photograph ! Yikes, forgive me folks. Also this whole spread was so tricky.

Anyways a few cute filler cards. The first one is from the new Embossed value kit. The second one is from the mix and match value kit. I just love that camera.

This is my journaling card that I told the whole story of how this event came about. For me this part of the story is just as important as the photos are. I used another gold photo overlay as a border around my journaling.
