Project Life Week 21

Hello Everybody !!

Wow, has it really been that long since I have blogged ?!!!

I am truly sorry about that. The end of the school year was jam packed and then summer came.
I have definitely been more busy creating than blogging. But I hope to catch up slowly.

I thought I would share my last week I have put together, week 21.

I created this one using the NoelMignon kit for June called Happy Go Lucky. It was jam packed with lots of fun goodies.

So let's go, I've got a movie date with the kiddos today !! Did I mention Summer is here.

Here is a look at both pages together. When I was looking back over the photos from this week I noticed that I had a lot of fun photos out in the yard. I decided to go with a green color scheme with a few other colors thrown in.

I just had to tell the story of how the kids call Dr. Pepper "Mommy Juice". Now let me say that yes I drink a glass here and there, but I certainly do not drink a ton !! But my kids try and steal a sip or two.

I added that story on to the first journaling card with the arrow on the bottom.

I kind of went with a simpler style for this layout. I just love how all my photos turned out and wanted the focus to be on them instead. Cause you know I love me some good photos !! Lol.

Moving on to the other items on this page. One of my favorite photos from the week was the small 3x4 photo. I was out taking photos of my blooming flowers and a humming bird came around and I managed to stand real still and get a shot ! If you look close you can see it. I added a digital brush to the photo from Ali Edwards and puffy triangle sticker.

The bottom photos are of my growing squash plant. Here is the link to the brush.

The next photo is a scene that happened a lot towards the end of school. Noah requested me to bring his scooter to the bus stop. So I would leave it on the other side of the gate for him, he would see me and run to the gate and off he would go !!

Let's move on to the other side.

I took some fun photos with my 50 mm lens that week and I love how they turned out.

Next is Bob the minion. Is it safe to say that I might have a little soft spot for these little yellow guys ?!!! They are so cute. They came out to Build A Bear and it didn't take much convincing for me to agree to let the kids get one. Plus it was their good grades present.

The journaling card that has the hearts on the top tells the Minion story. The picture next to it is how Noah keeps Bob's clothing in his room. He kills me !! Love it.

The last story was about how Katelyn was awarded with being on the Principal's List. She kept a 4.0 all year and was awarded her certificate at an Ice Cream Social at school. The photo of us next to it was from that day. So, so proud of that girl.

Well that is the end of week 21 folks. Thanks for coming. I hope to catch you all up on all of my pages here soon.

If your interested here is my Instagram link - https://instagram.com/mindiniebuhr/

I share a lot on there.

Have a Great Day.

Project Life Catch Up | NoelMignon kits

Happy Wednesday everybody !! We are half way through this week. How is everybody ?

Well I know I kinda slacked off this past week or so, and for that I am sorry. I had "life" stuff that needed to be caught up on and dealt with.

To make up for my lack of posts I have decided to share 2 weeks with you today. Both of which are using the Noel Mignon kits. Lots of Project Life goodness. And hopefully more to come this week. Our family has a fun and crazy weekend ahead. The boys are going camping with our church group and us girls are having a fun filled girls weekend. So we shall see !!

Let me start out with Weeks 20 and 21 of 2014. As you know I am not caught up on 2014.

I cut up a piece of paper that came in the kit from NoelMignon to start out my title card. I decided to stay simple and added a few stickers and the dates. Done and Done !

As I was looking through my pictures from last May I realized that I didn't have enough pictures to fill up 2 full weeks. So I simply but both weeks together and I am okay with that.

One of the things that I love about pocket pages is that there are no rules. I have the option to combine weeks if I want. Or to skip weeks. I could even do it monthly if I wanted to. There are so many options.

I also decided to stay simpler for these pages as well. Of course I added things here and there but I wanted to try and get it done. But you know, I am totally happy with the way it came out. So don't be afraid to both be simple with your pages or go crazy and have fun !!

A little info about the photos on this page. All the kids were super into having their faces painted. That was the week that I started decorating the laundry room. Lastly was Noah with a fresh new haircut. He loves to get his haircut because he gets a sucker.

Moving on to the second page. This one is a little bit of Noah's Tball action.

Lots more fun cards on this page. Photos are of Noah practicing hitting at Tball practice, his precious medal and Maddie being her typical self (which is a goof ball while brushing her teeth). Oh also Saturday chores with an Ali Edwards brush.

A close up.

That is all for those pages. Lets move on to this weeks pages that I shared on the NoelMignon blog yesterday.

This months kit was all about Travel. I was so excited about this because last summer was almost ALL travel.

I decided to start at the beginning of our summer travel. Last year the kids got out of school and we spent a whole week at home just chilling and then packing to hit the road. We headed out to spend a few weeks at my moms house.

Here is week 24 of 2014.

Here is the title card. I added the week brush from One Little Bird.

This particular week we drove to my parents house, threw Noah a birthday party with family, went on several hikes which we got rained out, ect. Lots of fun.

During our trip we took several hikes with my dad and the kids. I have lots of memories of hikes with my brother and my dad. So it was so awesome to go hiking with my own kids and my dad.

Here is a close up of some of the cards. In the kit there are these great My Minds Eye cards. The hello die cut card was one of my favorites. I added some patterned paper behind it for a fun look. To make it stand out I used a pen around the hello bubble. I added the white letters to abbreviate UTAH.

The photo with Noah is at the farm where we did his birthday party. I wanted to try to break up my photos with some white space. It was a perfect combination.

The second page of week 24. I just loved this 4x6 filler card.

Here are the journaling cards for this page. The "hike" brush can be found from Ali Edwards here.

Before the birthday party guests arrived we had a mini photo session with Noah at the farm. I was fun ! The next journaling card I printed onto vellum and cut it into a tag before I added to the card.

Okay everybody ! That is all I have for now. Hopefully I can get back here soon and share a spread that I made for this months Becky Higgins CT.

Have a great day everybody.

More Spring Break/Easter of 2014

Happy Wednesday everyone !

I have been super busy in my scrap space lately. You should see it, it's a hot mess !! A true disaster. Although, it just means more memories + photos are being preserved.

I have some Easter/Spring Break pages to show you today. These ones I created for the NoelMignon.com blog. This month they have an amazing kit full of lots of fun spring/easter colors.
My pages were up on her blog on Tuesday.

You can check out all the details of the shop here and also find the blog.

Now lets get down to sharing. Yippee.

Just a reminder to everyone. Typically I do Project Life weekly. But sometimes I love to add in themed/event based pages to my album. That way I can get all of the fun photos in the album. Like the pages below.

I kinda have 2 different pages to show today.  During our trip we did lots of stuff but we had 2 major events that we did. The first one was this smaller first page. The shared the other side last week.

Unfortunately I got sick last year and my father took the kids out for the day. I was so grateful and he did not mind at all.

I made a journaling card by using some supplies found in the kit. This is something I love doing, it gives me a chance to play with all the fun stuff.

I added a few pictures on the bottom part of my page and then made a few filler cards.

Lets move on to the second page. This page is all about an Easter Celebration we went to with grandma and grandpa.

This title card was fun to put together. I first doodled around some of the hearts and then added the embellishments on the bottom. Then I cut out those adorable mason jars and then added them to the corner of the journaling card.

Included in the kit were these awesome Jenni Bowlin rub ons. I made my own filler card around the fun gold rub on.

Lots of photos and journaling cards on the bottom. I love to use this pocket page protector if I have lots of pictures, I can fit a lot of stuff on one page. It is design F I believe.

A few notes about these photos and cards. We had lots of fun at the Easter Celebration. The kids got their faces painted, the rode the ponies, had sack races, met the Easter Bunny, and of course had an Easter Egg Hunt. Lots of fun.

That is a wrap on our Easter/Spring Break from 2014.

Have a fabulous day everybody and I will be back tomorrow to share some Simple Stories pages !! Lots of exciting stuff happening around here.

Spring Break 2014

Happy Tuesday everyone !!

I wanted to pop in and share some pages I made for the NoelMignon blog.

We just wrapped up our Spring Break 2015 and that got me inspired to get my Spring Break 2014 done. That is exactly what I did, I got a start and made 2 pages.

Here are both pages put together.

I have a lot of photos from this week and the plan is to do 2 spreads. This is the first one. I used Design A for the left side and then I cut apart the right side and made a smaller insert page.

In the Hello Darling kit from NoelMignon.com there is this great 2014 card. I knew that it would be perfect for my title card. I added the spring break in photoshop and then added a few embellishments.

The Spring word is from Ali Edwards. You can find it here.

I took this picture of my parents peach tree in bloom. I was in awe over the beauty, with the snowy mountains in the background. Spring is amazing !

A big part of going to grandmas house is jumping on the tramp. It usually starts the day and ends the day. Plus everywhere in between. So I am glad that I got a picture of this.

Another fun little story is this picture of the kids in the BIG Chevron rocking chair. This chair sits outside a gas station on the way to grandmas house. This chair has been there for a long time, I myself have pictures in this chair. So its been fun to get pictures of my own kids in this chair.

The pic in the chair. Next time I will get a better pic, one of the whole chair.

Here are some close ups of the second page.

Again, another story !! I am just loving all these stories. My dad came home from working out of town and immediately went out with the kids to put the trampoline together. Because he knows that the tramp is soooo important to them and he has such a caring heart.

The journaling card tells the story. And I'm in love with that hello wood veneer. I need more !

The text on my photo is from this brush set. Also from Ali Edwards. I sure took advantage of Ali Edwards 40 percent sale.

A few fun filler cards and a few photos.

My Spring Break 2014 pages are off to a good start. I plan on continuing on and finishing this week.

See you next time everybody !

I am 8 !

Hello everyone !

I wanted to pop in today and share some pages that I have completed using my March kit from NoelMignon.com.

Over the years I have been meaning to complete birthday pages for all the kids. But I haven't actually gotten around to it. Or taken the time to ask the kids questions like I did this year with the girls.

I took some time to ask both of the girls (who just had birthdays) some questions and let them answer. I chose to get Maddie's pages done for my Design Team assignment.

Here are some close ups.

Maddie with her eight fingers up because she is eight now.

Wrote down some tid bits about Maddie.

I knew that I wanted to ask some questions and let her answer them. But I didn't want to try to work around divided page protectors. So I decided to use a 6x12 page protector. I printed out a 4x6 photo and added it to the top. Then printed the word "eight " on to vellum.

I took these questions from a template from Ali Edwards that I purchased a while ago.

I decided to keep things kind of simple for this one. I wanted the photos and journaling to take center stage.

I really want to try and do this with the kids every year. I took some time and looked back. The last time I did this with the girls was when Maddie was 4 years old ! Wow, I really need to be better about writing down things that they like, do, don't like, ect. for every year.

Here's to making that happen.

That's it for today. Stay tuned tomorrow I have a Becky Higgins Design Team spread to share !

Project Life Week 12

Good morning everybody !!

I am here with you today sharing my Project Life Week 12.

This particular week I completed for a project for the NoelMignon Design Team. All this week they are having an online crop with daily challenges and prizes over on the members Facebook group !! Check it out, it's sure to be lots of fun ! NoelMignon Members is the group.

Each member of the Design Team picked a challenge and I picked "Documenting Life At Home."

I told the story of our dinner routine and how all the kids have to take turns sitting next to daddy. One night at dinner I took some photos of Noah sitting in the beloved dinner chair right before we ate. I used the journaling card to tell the story.

Another story I told this week, and I have done so in past albums, is of when daddy gets home. All the kids drop whatever they are doing and run to him. They are getting so big now that they almost topple him over every night.

Last week two of the kids got skateboards. I had fun taking some photos of Noah on his skateboard one afternoon. I took a whole bunch of great shots, thinking of doing a spread to add to his album.

** Don't be afraid to get down on the ground to get the perfect shot. I laid down on the sidewalk for these but it was sooooo worth it !! Even if my neighbors think I am the crazy camera lady !! Ha Ha. I think they are used to it by now and know me well with my camera in my hand ! **

This past weekend we had a combined birthday party for the girls. They are into Ever After High so that is the theme we went with. Their favorite character at the moment is Madeline Hatter, daughter of the Mad Hatter. So we had a Mad Tea Party, took some fun photos and that was it !! It was fun.

All the characters at the school or either Royals or Rebels.

One more close up. A low of the week for me was being sick. I also journaled a little bit about my future dreams for our new home.

That is it for me today. I'm off to finish my week 8 today and post it sometime this week !!

A few introductions + A Field Trip

                        I have a confession.

I don't really like my picture being taken or trying to write about myself. Don't get me wrong, I love to scrapbook and document my families lives. But seldom, rather hardly ever, do I take a picture of just me, and journal about myself.

Well, this past week I decided to change that. I was so inspired with the Simple Stories "I AM" collection that I created a page all about ME ! This months Daily Diary Kit from NoelMignon.com is called Shine Bright. If you have seen a glimpse yet your missing out. It has lots of Simple Stories and MME !! Plus the colors, oh the colors. Gorgeous ! It has been so fun to design pages with these kits.

I created an insert page to go in between my week 9 pages that I shared last week. Now it's nothing too exciting. But I have to say that I am loving how this page turned out.

I wanted to include a few details about what I was watching on t.v. right now. I think this will be fun to look back on in 5 or even 10 years.

Aren't these brushes fabulous ?!!! You can find them here. They are by Little Lamm Co.

For this photo I cut out the " I AM from one of the journaling cards and used that for my journaling prompt. I added some I AM responses digitally to my photo before printing.

A few fun filler cards. All materials from the NoelMignon.com March kit.

I added one more journaling card. A few more tidbits about me currently. Another one of those fun brushes.

I encourage everyone out there to do a page that is all about you !! It might not be your favorite thing to do, but your story is IMPORTANT !! Tell your story.

I also did a page about my Daughter's Fourth Grade School Field Trip.  It was all day sort of thing and for weeks before she kept begging me and my husband to go. One or the other, she desperately wanted someone to go. It worked out that my husband took the day off of work and went with her and her class.

This journaling card came together rather easily. I have used lots of stripes for these two pages and the gold striped paper was perfect. I trimmed it to go in the corner and leave room for my journaling. Actually it is my husbands journaling. I asked him to write about their day since I was not able to make it.

I chose to highlight a quote that my daughter said that day by making that part of the font bold. It is simple to do and I love how it stands out from the rest of the journaling.

A fun filler card. I love globes and so this card was a no brainer for this page.

A simple journaling card. I asked my daughter to tell me about her day and I typed it up on this card.

I used this photo as a sort of title card.

One last journaling card.

That is all that I have to share today. Have a great day everyone !

P.S. Go out and make a page about you !! You won't regret it.
