Making Dreams Come True | Project Life

I'm baaaackkk !

I am so happy to be back with you today. Being sick is no fun. I have felt blahhhh for to many days. But I am slowly getting back to normal.

Today I am going to be sharing an older spread from this past spring. This one is all about a bike ride/adventure we took.

For weeks and weeks before this particular day happened Noah kept asking to go biking all together on the bike trail. At the time we needed to get our biking gear back in shape. A few of the kids needed new helmets, and tubes for their bikes.

We got that all taken care of and I surprised the kids by picking them up from school with their bikes in the back of the van.

I used a lot of the Simple Stories Bloom & Grow collection for this one. The colors seemed to go perfectly for my photos. Isn't this heart card the cutest ?!!  I used a Heidi Swapp word on top of the hearts and added a few embellishments to this make shift title card.

You all know how I love to add in a larger photo into a spread when I can. I added in this big photo of all of us on trail.

Here is a journal card and filler card I added in to this first page.

I used some digitals from the Ali Edwards Wild Story kit digitals as well for this one.

After our ride the kids played in the river and found All Of The Moss.

Now this right side of my spread is okay. I am like Meh, I should have spend a little more time on it. But seriously I was in this " I need to get this one done and move on to all of the other empty pockets " zone. Done is better than perfect.

I used more of the Simple Stories supplies like that cute gnome.

Another look at the right side.

Another photo of the kids in the water. I used another digital brush from the Wild Story Kit and a vellum arrow from Studio Calico.

Along our ride the kids wanted to stop and explore. I let them case birds, squirrels and naturally I took photos of the weeds and water behind them. Naturally !!

Here is a close up of a photo of the kids exploring. I am always trying to remember to step back and take some of those photos that show the whole scene.

I used the Afternoon stamp from a Kelly Purkey stamp set from Hero Arts.

Well that is it for this one. I am so glad that I am getting these fun stories told.

Valentine's Insert | Project Life

Operation Catch Up. Let's do this. I realize that most of you might not want to see Valentine's Day layouts when Halloween is right around the corner. But here goes.

Today I am going to be sharing a old insert that I created for Valentine's Day. I have always taken photos with my kids on Valentine's Day. This year was no difference. Some of them were more willing participants than others. Ha Ha.

I ended up with lots of fun photos from Valentine's Day. So I created an insert to add into week 6 that Valentine's Day ended up in. This page protector is from Becky H and it is design G.

Another yearly tradition that I do is buy a few props for our mini photos shoots. I love how this photo of Katelyn turned out. I added a digital stamp from Kellie Stamps. It should still be available in her shop.

Noah came home from school one day with a Valentine for me. Inside was a card with this precious picture of him. Naturally I pried it off of the card and in it went.

On the other side of the card was this hand written note. It was the perfect size for the album. I added the flower sticker and some letter stickers to spell out his name. It needed something on the right side and his name was perfect.

I used my hands to make a heart for this photo. Thankfully Katelyn took a great photo for me.

The moments is a digital sticker from the everyday collection of PL.

The filler card next to the photo is a card from a 12x12 sheet that I bought at Michael's. I think it was from Reflections. I added some striped paper behind it and embellished it from there.

This is my journaling card. Lots of fun stickers and layers on this one.

Let's move on to the other side of the insert.

I really had fun with this 4x6 filler card. Most of these stickers were from a Crate Paper sticker sheet.

The top left corner was a photo of my flowers. It is kind of hard to see but the gold circle says lucky.

I always get the kids balloons for Valentine's Day. Noah sure loved his.

A couple of fun photos to finish it off.

I tried to go simple on this insert for a couple of reasons. I wanted the photos to stand out and I wanted to have it done.

Thanks for coming today everyone ! I will check back in with you in a few days for more fun Project Life pages. Take care now.

Project Life Week 5

Hi everybody !

I am so thrilled that I am back with you today sharing another Project Life spread. This one is from way back, week 5 to be specific. I haven't shared this one yet. I will be here more often hopefully, sharing more. Okay let's get to it.

As it turned out I didn't take a lot of photos that week. So I improvised and used one photo and made it stretch over two 4x6 pockets. Super love that, going to need to do that again. Another thing I loved about this spread were the colors. A lot of blues and pinks.

This particular week I took the kids on a scavenger hunt to the local park. I used this photo of Katelyn on top of the hill as my title card. The top sentence there is from Kellie Stamps and I turned the word "outdoors" pink to match her coat. The week five is a brush from One Little Bird. To add the dates on there I used my date stamp, I am loving that thing this year. Super easy to grab it out and stamp the dates.

This first filler card is one from the Currently Edition from Becky Higgins. I used a stamp from Ali Edwards Storytelling kit I think. The second card with the photo on it tells a little story about how Patrick and I went out for Indian Food and it was spicy and not for Sissies ! Lol.

One of the things I will do if I see a saying that I like is to either pin it to pinterest or I will take a screenshot of it with my phone. That has been a great way to remember that I wanted to use that saying in my PL album. I will usually see it in my photos when I am looking through them to print off photos. I added this cute saying to a tag and there you have it.

The clear transparency card was one I used for week 4. I embellished it so that It would go with this spread as well. I spelled out the word Hunt as we were hunting items to add to our bag.

This 4x6 journaling card is from the Currently Edition of PL as well. I added a photo of Noah with his bag and used the rest of the space for journaling.

Here is the right side of the spread.

Before I picked up the kids from school to go to the park I took this photo of their scavenger hunt bags.

** Here is the link to the Scavenger Hunt I found on Pinterest **

I love pinterest. I found this great scavenger hunt list that and it was all ready for me to print up. I printed directly onto the paper bags using my printer and it was a huge hit. And can I just say I love that little check list sticker. It is from Simple Stories, one of their clear sticker sets. I think it was Carpe Diem.

The weather was pretty good that week. A little on the cold side but we spent a lot of time outside. The kids set up cones going down the sidewalk and rode their bikes, and roller blades in and out. I used a stamp from a Studio Calico kit and added a few stickers.

Can I just say that I love Ali Edwards. There I said it. She has the best saying, the best products, ect. I can't remember where I came across this saying from her but I knew it had to go into my album. Even though I am not participating in her OLW class I always have a word for the year. My word this year was AWARE. I wanted to work on being aware of everything, everyone, extra. So this saying was screaming at me !! I need to blow it up and add it somewhere in my scrap space.

At the park there is this hill. As we were looking for our nature items we started to climb this hill. I thought, wow, this would make a great picture spot. So I asked Katelyn to take a few photos while I asked the other two about how their hunt was going. I used a digital stamp from Kellie Stamps on the bottom and added a chipboard piece from a Story Kit from Ali Edwards.

Thanks for coming over to the blog today ! I am loving getting to share some of my older Project Life Weeks with you all and I hope you are liking them too.

Next up is Thursday of Week In The Life. Have a great weekend everyone !

Eat More Cake | Kellie Stamp PL page

Hello, hello everyone !

I am so happy to be here today with you all. I have a small birthday page to share with you that I created about my birthday last year. This page was created for the Kellie Stamps Creative Team using the clear stamp set called EAT MORE CAKE.

You can find it in her shop here.

Here is what the whole project looks like. It turned out that I had a half of a 12x12 side empty last year in my Project Life album. It was perfect for adding in this page about my birthday.

I made this simple title card. Since it wasn't a regular week page I stamped out the Happy Birthday and cut it out to put onto the silver doily.

The color scheme came together rather easily this time. The blues, yellows with a hint of pinks really were so fun to play and create with.

Most of these cards are from the Studio Calico kit called Pool Party. I loved that cute dog card and I had to use it.

The next card is a card that I added some digital stamps to the bottom. The colors were perfect for this page.

The bottom photo is of my cake. This cake, or the type of cake is very special to me. It has always been tradition to get a birthday cake from a bakery that my grandparents used to live by. My mom would order one every year and we love it. It's delicious and tradition. I love that whenever she is in town for a birthday she brings one all the way from UTAH.

So this photo of me with my cake is kind of awesome ! I don't want to brag but I love it. I typically do not have photos of me with my birthday cake, its usually me taking the photos. So I loved to add it in my album. I added a digital brush from the set.

My parents were here in town visiting last year so we went out to dinner. I snapped a photo in the bathroom mirror. Kind of fun. The colors were bad so that I turned it black and white. I think that it ties in with the darker photo.

The card on the right side shows how old I am. I wanted to play with numbers and kind of show how old I was turning. Yikes, how did I get that old. I certainly don't feel that old. Oh well. That is life. But I thought it would be fun to use those white numbers and then add in the colored ones. I felt that the card needed some color so I cut the blue paper and added it onto the corner. Lastly I stamped " It's Your Day " onto the photo of our Jamba juice cups photo.

That is it for me today. I am happy to have created this page just for me. I have plans to use this stamp set for a birthday party we had for the girls a few years ago. I can't wait to get started on that. Take care everyone.

Memorial Day Hike | Project Life Spread

Hello everyone ! It's me again checking in. How is everyone's summer ?

We as a family have wanted to start doing some hikes together. This past Memorial Day we made it happen. We drove up the canyon and were up the trail in no time.

I put together these pages using the New Kellie Stamps releases for July. Here is the link to her shop and the digital stamp set I used. Aren't they so much FUN ! I used a lot of them on my spread.

Here is what both pages look like.

Here is the title card. I started out with the Great Outdoors stamp from Kellie Stamps. I took the word  "the" from one of Ali Edwards brushes and added the gold star for a fun look. I used a few hints of gold throughout my spread for some consistency. The title card itself is from the Becky Higgins everyday collection.

I had been saving this wood veneer piece for a project that we were all together and this one fit the bill. I added the letters MY to the card as well. One of the other colors I added in was green. There was lots of green in the photos and I wanted to make sure I had a little green here and there. I added the small green star onto the card as well.

I snuck in this photo of the rest of the family hiking up the steep trail. One thing I like to do lately is to leave a white border around my smaller photos to add more white space. It makes things look less busy in my opinion.

Before I printed out the picture I added the line of stars from the other set of digital stamp set released this month from Kellie Stamps.Underneath the stars I added another stamp from the set.

Here is a look at the left side. A few fun photos and journaling cards of course.

One of the digital stamps is the compass. I used photoshop to resize it to fit the space I needed for this first journaling card. I printed it out onto some vellum and cut around it to make a fun embellishment.

The other color in my spread that I wanted to use was this pretty blue. I used another filler card that I had and cut it so that I could use the corner.

All the kids took their time finding the perfect climbing stick. During our hike Maddie kept wandering off to find ladybugs. I took a photo of her ladybug on her walking stick.

I used one of the digital stamps on the middle of the photo and added a few fun embellishments to the bottom. I positioned it right underneath the ladybug in hopes to draw your eye in to the ladybug.

One more photo I want to mention about the left side. I loved this view that we had while we stopped for lunch. I added a digital brush and the pink and gold heart.

Let's move on to the right side now.

This top left photo was kind of great and kind of funny at the same time. Some of the kids were not in the mood to take photos. Trust me, I did not take that many. But I asked them to walk with me up the trail as I had set my remote on my phone. Well Katelyn purposely hid behind me and Maddie looks like a flamingo with only one leg down. Oh well.

This fun wood veneer card I have had seriously forever. I finally put it to good use and made a filler card with it. I love seeing these flowers along the way. And don't get me started on the moss on the trees. SO COOL !

If I don't have enough photos or I need to add some more journaling into my spread I will add in a 4x6 journaling card. I made my own using some stickers, and this rubber word TODAY.

Another thing I like to do is to start out my journaling with a bold word or a word phrase. To draw your eye in so to speak, to add some more to the page.  I used the word " adventure" from the digital stamp set to start out my journaling.

These are the last cards from this spread I want to point out. I used another digital stamp onto the small 2x2 photo and made a cluster of embellishments. The other card I just love. I started with this fun circle digital stamp that I added in the small images on the top and bottom, adding in the year with letter stickers.

The pink flower is actually an overlay from the Heidi Swap September Skies Value Kit. I added a few embellishments onto the top of the overlay piece.

Here is one more look at the right side.

We sure had fun hiking and I look forward to doing it again. I also loved working with this digital stamp set from Kellie Stamps. Go check out her shop, lots of great things.

Thanks for coming everyone ! Take Care now.
