Week 17 of 2014 using the Hey Girl Daily Diary Kit

It's no secret that I am behind in my 2014 album. Last year had its up and downs. Not a lot of scrapbooking happened. But this year I am back in the game.

I got a good start to 2015 and am almost done with week 1. My Studio Calico Kit came !! Once I get a moment, I will go back to that and get that one done.

I took some time went back and picked a fun week to work on. I'm sharing it with you today.

This is what Week 17 looks like. Again, from 2014. I am still loving the Hey Girl Daily Diary Kit from Noelmignon.com.

Here is what week 17 looks like. As I look back over this week, I used lots of fun colors that are all throughout the kit. And I'm okay with that.

I went with a simple title card this time. I felt like there was lots going on throughout the spread and this was just want was needed.  I added the week digital brush to a sheet of patterned paper. Finished it off with a few embellishments and added the date with the always fun Shimelle date stamp. I have to say how much I like the date stamp. It has a little bigger font than others and I love it !!

This is a journaling card about having my husband back from a 2 week training session. I put the pink love sticker on the bottom and used some of the fun word stickers on top. Also added a photo of Katelyn in her cowboy outfit. It was pioneer week at school. At least I think it was, or something like that.

The first card talks about the scene of the three kids begging like dogs for the cracker that was shaped like a dog bone.

We bought a blueberry bush that week. Katelyn was soooo excited. I printed out the photo and then added the heart overlay on top. I wanted to jazz up the overlay a bit so I added some patterned paper behind two of the hearts.

I used this overlay to be a border for a recap of the week.

Here is the second page of my spread.

I added a slanted strip of journaling to the bottom of my photo. This is so easy to do. Start by cutting your journaling down to the size you want. Position it as slanted as you want and then glue it to your photo. Then cut off the sides and your done !! Ta Da.

The second card talks about Noah's first tball game.

Katelyns diorama from her school project. And then some journaling about getting the telescope out to look at the stars/moon/ect.

Before printing out my photo I added a white circle in photoshop to make a frame around the star gazers. I used the letter stickers around the edge for a fun effect.

That is it for me today. Have a great day everyone !!

Week 2 of Project Life Using the Hey Girl Daily Diary Kit

Hey everybody !!

I'm checking in today with a fun and new PL spread using my first NoelMignon kit. Do you remember me posting that I was asked to be on their Design Team. Well, I got to play around and create with my first kit !!

It is called Hey Girl and I believe that there are a few still available. You can check it here. Along with all the details of the kit. I also shared a blog post over on their blog as well. You can find it here.

Now lets get to the good stuff.

My plan from here on out is to start my 2015 PL album while continuing to catch up on my 2014 album. With that in mind I give you week 2 of 2015. *I am still waiting for my SC kit to come so I can do the last week of December and week 1 of 2015. I'm getting a little worried that it got lost. I hope it comes soon.

Lots of fun, everyday stuff and plenty of stories. Oh and our 13th Wedding Anniversary.

Here is closer look of the first page.

Here is my Week 2 title card. I started out with this colorful striped paper. Don't you just love this paper ?!!! I wanted it everywhere. It's from Heidi Swapp September Skies.

The Monday after I got back I had the clean/organize/purge bug REAL BAD. So I got to work and even did some carpet cleaning with my favorite partner in crime, my bissell. And yes, I was in my pajama pants. Cause that is how I roll when I clean.

Trying to be healthier in 2015. We shall see if I can pull it off.

In the kit were these 3x3 square die cuts. I cut off the edges and then had this fun hey word left over. I added it to the corner of this photo. I wanted to tell a little story about Maddie and her wearing nothing but skirts. Yes, still. It's been so long that I don't even remember when it began.

A journaling card and a photo about saying goodbye to Christmas.

Another journaling card and a filler/photo card.

Here is a closer look at the right side of the layout.

One of the things that I love to do, especially when I have a packed week, is to add journaling to my photo. That way I can get more "life" into my spread. This photo was perfect to add my journaling to the bottom of it. The little black boxes are perfect spots for some fun embellishments.

This photo is what usually happens around 10 am at our place. It's just me and Noah at home right before we walk him to the bus stop for Kindergarten. Usually I make his lunch and we sit together and do some sort of learning. Today was reading his book that came home with him from school the day before.  I love this time of the day.

I truly love to document these types of stories. This is the stuff of life, the stuff I want to remember.

This is another example of using a photo and journaling in the same 4x6 slot. I added a photo that I had snapped with my phone and printed it out. I then printed my journaling onto the card and added the photo. I added two puffy stickers to the top of my journaling, adding patterned paper behind them first.

This was the journaling card that goes with the above photo of me and Noah.

This card originally was a 4x6 size. I thought I would put it into 2 of the 3x4 slots and it worked out great. I spaced it all out and then printed out my journaling as a 4x6. Then I cut it up and slipped it into the page protector. I used the Sunday arrow sticker to show off my flower photo. I printed out a photo of my Anniversary flowers onto vellum for the see through effect and I loved the result. I added the small love sticker to my photo, which was the perfect touch.

In the kit were these great kraft die cut circles. I adhered it to the blue flower journaling card and added the diamond to the top. It went along with my Anniversary story real well.

That is all I have for you today everyone. Thanks for coming.  I have been super, super busy working on this and that. I am having lots of fun and can't wait to share more with you as time goes on.

Project Life Week 9 | 2014

Happy Friday everyone !!

Is anyone else super excited for CHA Weekend ?!!! I love to see all the new products. Along with the fun photos and videos from all the lucky ones that get to go.

Anyhow. I wanted to share my week 9 from 2104 with you today. Yep, week 9 folks. I have a lot of sharing and make up work ahead of me.

Here we go.

Week 9 was a rather regular week with a Birthday thrown in at the very end.

The first page. Puppy play, reading lessons, and our new giant TV.

A simple title card and a few embellishments added to the photo of Katelyn and her puppy.

A journaling card about Noah's first reading lesson and a photo of him playing with his trains.

A funny moment that happened in the car got its own journaling card for this week.

If I remember correctly I cut part of a Becky Higgins photo overlay and added it to the corner of my photo. I added the word read with a slick writer.

The second page of week 9.

I just love adding a large photo. This one was a panoramic that my husband took while out on the job site. Another thing I love are those Heidi Swapp words. I want all of them !!

Enjoyed a little me time.

I took Maddie to Build A Bear for her birthday.

I loved this birthday cake card from one of the SC kits. It was perfect for this week.

The other card was all about Maddie's birthday.

We let her open her gift today and planned on doing her birthday later that month.

She picked out her own birthday cake. It was more like a giant cupcake.

That is it for me today. Have a great weekend everybody !!

A little Prep work for 2015

Hello everyone !

Today I want to share how I have prepared my 2015 Project Life album. (well, albums) I am so happy to say that I am officially ready to go. Bring on 2015.

My approach to Project Life is to complete weekly spreads with the occasional event/trip/ect spread. It has always been this way and this year will be no different.

I like to add "STUFF" to my pages as you all know. This leaves them somewhat bulky. In the past I have always needed 2 albums and I have set up 2 albums for 2015.

This year I went with 2 Becky Higgins 12x12 albums. They are the Cinnamon edition. I have to confess that I was not at all prepared in advance for 2015. *Mental note for next year - PLAN AHEAD OF TIME * Anywho, I didn't want to wait for them to get here if I ordered them online. So I went in to my local Michaels and picked some that I liked, and some that they had a quantity of 2 of. So there you go. But hey, I'm all set up and ready to go now.

* I plan on doing my first week with the Studio Calico kit and I waiting ever so impatiently for that to arrive so that I may start. ** Come on UPS truck !!

Moving on.

This is what my album currently looks like. I have gathered a few items for my title page. I plan on getting some individual pictures of all of my family members soon to put in the album. Also going to add some other fun cards and such.

I will share my title page when it is finished I promise.

I went ahead and made some temporary title cards this year. I used the plain grid 4x6 cards and printed out the week # and the dates. You could most certainly use some scraps, plain cardstock or whatever you have on hand. You can also hand write the information to save time.

I like to have these title cards in my album ahead of time so I know what week it is, more on that in a bit.

I'm a planner. I'll admit it. Especially when it comes to my Project Life. I have been using these planner sheets from Marcy Penner for years now and I LOVE them !!

I used a 8.5x11 page protector in between each week. Inside the page protector I added one of the planner sheets. The reason : It's right there ready to go. I don't have to go and print one ahead of time.

I use these planner pages to plan out my spreads. I can easily write in what photo is going where, where I want a certain journaling card when it is time to sit down and actually do my week.

I also use the smaller 8.5x11 page protectors to house my ephemera, school items, well you get the idea. Anything that I need to save from that week. I also use the envelopes to keep some items that I might want to use with that week. As you can see I have some items in the page protector that I want to use.

As you can see there is a place for the date on the page planner. I love it !

YOU CAN FIND THE FREE POCKET PAGE PLANNERS HERE.

The last thing that I like to do is to add a few plain journaling cards in each week. As the week goes by I can easily write notes on them. Things that we did, quotes, ideas, ect.

Over the years, I have found that these few simple things have kept me successful in creating meaningful Project Life albums.

I plan on printing photos tomorrow and start the planning process for my week 1 tomorrow and finish it up when my SC kit arrives.

Have you guys started 2015 yet ? Still working on 2014 ?

* Stay tuned for a new Project Life post coming soon. I have several spreads from last year that I have not shared yet !

Until next time.

December Daily Days 15 - 19

Hello everyone.

I just want to give a shout out and a warm Hello to any new comers to the blog. I am so happy that your here !

Also wanted to personally thank each and everyone of you for your kind comments over the past week !! I am so grateful and humbled.

I'm back, as promised, with you today to share some more December Daily pages.

Before I left town I got busy and did 5 days in just a few short days. I was really hoping to finish before I left but time was not on my side. I have plans to finish them when I get back.

Here's a look at days 15 -19.

I chose to do a small 3x8 insert page for day 15.

Day 15 was focused on Christmas shows. We watched Elf as a family that night.

For this card I googled Elf image and found this one. I added the fifteen brush from Ali Edwards and finished it off with the "Enjoy This" overlay from the Heidi Swapp PL overlay pack.

Day 16 was all about our Christmas cards. I picked them up and got them all address and mailed.
The right side is the back side of day 15. It was the perfect spot for a photo and a journaling card.

This journaling card was easy and fun to make. I started out with the family brush from Kara Dudley and went from there.

I chose to add a tag on top of my Christmas card for extra journaling.

I added some extra photos from our Christmas card photo shoot. Long story short, we had it all set up with the photographer but my oldest daughter came down sick. So we went with plan B. It entailed, the tripod and me filling in for the photographer.

Yes, those extra folks are my wonderful parents who came down for a visit.

Day 17 features our gingerbread House party that we held for some friends and neighbors.

A photo + journaling card.

I wanted to include the ever so popular Starbucks bag and decided to add it to my day 17. I had so many fun pics from our gingerbread party. I decided that I would add those in my regular PL album. I made a photo collage of some of the kids's houses and slipped it into the Starbucks bag.

Day 18. Hello decorations.

I added a photo collage to the back of the Starbucks bag.

I really had fun wandering around the house taking photos of everywhere I spotted Christmas.

I took the idea of one of Ali Edwards cards that was included in her DD kit and made my own version. I printed it out on Vellum and slipped it in.

Snapped a photo of my table decorations.

Day 19. My husband went out of town for 3 days that week. I always like to include him in my PL as much as I can so why not in the DD. He was kind enough to participate when I asked him to snap a few photos.

The top left photo is of him in his hotel room. The top right photo is of them de-icing the plane before he came home.

The bottom journaling card was fun to make. He saved his meal card from the hotel he stayed at for me to use. Isn't he just the best !!

That's all I have done for now.

I am going to take the kids sledding today and another fun activity. Followed up with a reunion dinner with some of my college roommates !! I can't wait !! So I've got to go.

Are you guys working on anything fun ? Finishing up projects ? Starting your project life 2015 albums ? I'd love to hear about what your working on. I love comments !!

Stay tuned next week. I will have share a PL layout from last year. I've actually got a few of them to share.
