December Daily 2015 | Days 1 - 6

Howdy Everyone !

I am still slowly working on my December Daily Album from 2015. I wanted to share some of the first pages with you today. I have every intention to finish this project. It might take me a few months to get it done.

December Daily | Day 1.

My daughter had eye surgery on December 1. It was a rough, rough day.

Instagram notes :

Hello December 1. I've been dreading you for a while now. Dreading. Knowing that it was going to be a hard day. Knowing that I should be happy it's officially " The happiest time of the year." But that being said, we have survived. I am so thankful for modern technology, for kind nurses, for adorable teddy bears to make things seem okay, and for husbands that are above amazing to hold us all together. Plus her teddy bear and her IV wrap are Christmas themed !!

On the journaling card I added a list of things that I was thankful for. Her medical bracelet is on the bottom of the card. Goodness for me is that she was given two !

The color scheme was kind of perfect. The minty green and red in the photos were the perfect starting point. I simply followed it over the two pages.

Before Surgery the nurse came in with this adorable bear for Katelyn. She loved him and later named him Dr. Snuffles.

I added in a fun transparency from an old Studio Calico kit. It seemed to fit ! I slipped it into the top of the page and made my own journaling card for the bottom. I copied some of the star paper from the Digital DD kit from Ali Edwards. I added a strip of it to the top of my journaling card in photoshop. I decided to change the color of the stars to red. Then I picked out a few to turn back to black.

December Daily | Day 2.

The second day was kind of a blur now but it was spent at home caring to Katelyn. I started taking down the fall decor and getting out the Christmas ones to take their place. I looked around and saw the colors of fall next to the Christmas colors. I snapped a quick picture and I love it !

A close up of the picture.

Since I didn't have much to say about day 2,  I cut off the second row of pockets. I also added a clear tab.

A filler card.

December Daily | Day 3.

We traveled down to the UCLA campus for Katelyn's post op appointment. It was an all day ordeal and we didn't do anything else that day.

I used one of the digital cards from the Project Life Everyday Edition.

Seriously people, this bowl of goodness is almost making me want to drive all the way down there again today !!

The weather that day was amazing, it was so perfect.

The fox theatre is across from the ice cream shop. The number 3 card is from this years DD kit from Ali Edwards.

December Daily | Day 4

Over the course of day 4 the thing that kept on occurring was JOY !! I made this journaling card and added some things that brought our family joy.

This gold journaling card is from the Golden Themed card set.

December Daily | Day 5

Day 5 was when we had a quick family photo shoot. It was lots of fun and I needed a way to add in some more photos. The solution was to slice up a 4x6 pocket page protector and fold it over so that it would be the 6x8 size still. WRMK is the page protector that I used for this one. It was a full 12x12 sheet with 6 4x6 pockets. I cut one row of them off and it turned out perfect.

Some close ups from the front pages.

A Heidi Swapp wood veneer I found on clearance and some Simple Stories Washi Tape behind it.

I added in 2 full photos, a collage, and a journaling card inside.

December Daily | Day 6

Breakfast with Santa at the kids school was so much fun. It was nice to have some family time.

I printed out a large 6x8 photo of Maddie sitting on Santa's lap. When I first saw the green color of the butcher paper on the breakfast tables I knew what I wanted to use as embellishments. These acrylic pieces ( the ampersand and the heart on the other page) turned out so perfect for these pages.

A few close ups of the second page.

That concludes my blog sharing for today. As I continue to get some more pages done I will be back to share more. If you have any questions about anything please feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you.

Thanks for coming and have a wonderful day !

December 2015 Highlights

Hello everybody !

Is it really almost Christmas ? Yikeees. I have been busily doing this and that around here.

I wanted to share some pages I put together for my last Project Life Creative Team assignments. Where did this year go ?  I am very sad that my time is ending but am so very thankful for this wonderful opportunity.

Every year I make a December Daily album to document the month of December. To go along with that I usually make a couple regular Project Life pages. This year will be no different. I've already done a few using mostly the new Heidi Swapp value kit called Oh What Fun Christmas. I tried to look for it locally here but couldn't find it so I printed it out from the digital version.

Here is what both pages look like. I love the simpleness of it with a hint of gold here and there.

I combined some of my favorite moments from the early part of the month.

This title card is from the Heidi Swapp Oh What Fun Christmas kit. I added the 2015 for the year, the star, and the stamp at the top.

I recently stopped in to Starbucks to get one of their pastry bags to use in my December Daily album. They have these cute snowman cookies so I had to get one.

The journaling card summarized what these pages are about. I wanted to add a touch of gold to match the title card. I used the silkscreen from Ali Edwards Story kit and it turned out perfect.

Here is the bottom part of the first page. A friend and I went out for some shopping and one of the stores had an amazing Christmas window display. I wanted to move in.

Another look. A photo of the three kids from our family photo shoot.

We went to have breakfast with Santa the first week of December. I added the believe stamp to the bottom of this journaling card.

Moving on to the second page. Filled with twinkle lights, and more photos from our photo shoot.

I had some fun during our photo shoot. I added the word merry from the digital kit. I love how it helps tie in the gold theme.

I added in this big journaling card to help bring the whole story together. It tells some fun details about how we are celebrating this December.  I added some more of the gold specks from the silkscreen I talked about above.

Our elf Harry is such a fun part of our December that I wanted to make sure that I included him in our families story. He is helping Katelyn with her math homework.

I love this christmas tree journaling card. I believe it is from the Stampin Up Seasons snapshot 2015 kit. I added the magic phrase from Ali Edwards magic story kit and a star on the top to finish it off.

I added a fun filler card and a picture of me getting the twinkle lights out.

There you have it. Thanks for coming everyone ! I have to finish up a quick assignment then I plan to get back to my December Daily album. I will be sharing that here soon with you as I tackle that. Take care and Happy Holidays.

December Daily 2014 | Days 22 - 24

Hello everybody !

Wow, I bet you thought that I had forgotten or abandoned the old blog huh ! Sorry about that. I will slowly be making my way back here to share with you over the next couple of months. December will mostly or might be all about December Daily.

Today I wanted to share some pages from my DD 2014 album. I created them for a Simple Stories assignment and I only have 2 more days to finish up and then it's done. I don't know why some years are harder to finish than others. Oh well.

Supplies are Simple Stories Claus & Co. The album is also Simple Stores 6x8 kraft and red.

Here is a look at Day 23.

Noah loves to take baths in my tub. So I said yes to his never ending requests and we had a great conversation while I folded laundry next door. I added in my favorite quote on the bottom card.

This next page or shall I say pages are all about our Elf Harry.

The right side is a 2x2 pocket page protector that I cut off the last 2 rows. I added in smaller photos, filler cards and a few see thru pockets.

Last year Harry got into a lot of trouble and had lots of fun while he was visiting our home. I wanted to document some of this because the kids sure do love Harry and seeing what he has been up to each night.

I blew up a picture of Harry about to get run over by the train. I cut it up and added to two pockets. I stapled the word believe onto the page protector with my Tim Holtz tiny attacher. Love that thing. That way it can be on both of the pictures.

The other side has more photos of Harry and more filler cards.

The next page I used one of the SN@P Journaling Pages and hand wrote what Harry had done for each day. I also added a few fun things here and there.

On the back of the Harry page I added a flip up picture. I really wanted to have a fun interactive page so I created this flip up.

This page was all about us making Santa cookies. I want to point out the red Dec 24 card. Simple Stories has a set of cards with numbers 1 - 25 on them which are so cool for December Daily.  Another thing I love are the chipboard stickers. I used the two stickers all about cookies. Couldn't have been more perfect.

The flip up page was real easy. I printed out my picture, then cut the patterned paper it was going on the same width. I measured it with a ruler and then used the ruler to fold it down so I could add the photo ontop.  I should have taken a photo of it, next time I will.

Here is what the inside looks like. Simple but done. Sometimes that is all you need.

That is it for me today. I only 2 more pages to finish up for my 2014 album. I have started 2015 and if my printer would stop running out of ink I could get some of that done too. ( It is time for a new printer ) I will share when I have some pages done.

Until then. I hope you all are having a wonderful Holiday season so far.
