Project Life Week 14

I finally found some time to finish another week in my PL album. Week 24 was a HUGE week. A beach road trip, shopping for clothes, tramp, and a swingset, and easter weekend !! Oh boy.  But I did it and I tried to go a little bit simple this week.

I absolutely loved the colors of this week. It was a lot of blues and yellows with a little pink thrown in at the end.

HERE IS THE FIRST PAGE :

THE PICTURES :

Used this brush

There was a playground right on the beach and the kids were in heaven. Having the water and a playground so close together.

Used this brush.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

For this one I took a foldable journaling card and journaled on it first. And then added my embellishments.   I choose this card because I needed the extra room to journal about why we went down to Ventura and what we did while we were there.

The star is from October Afternoon 9-5. April sticker from little yellow bicycle. And the #2 is from Tim Holtz.

I used a picture that I took of the beach to journal on and I love the effect. So fun and simple.

This one I wanted to make sure that I linked the picture and the journaling card. So I used the arrow from Studio Calico and outlined it with my black pen to make it stand out. "THE VIEW" was awesome by the way !! I could have lived there, at least for a little while.

I wanted to do some traditional pages about our beach trip. So I ended up doing a 1 page and then a 2 page layout with some of the pictures from our trip.  I just love that the colors were similar and this is how it looked in the book.

Here is a look at the scrapbook page. I scraplifted it from Kelly Noel here. Although I added some things just to make it mine ! Most of the supplies were from my Studio Calico kit.

I also did a 2 page layout but it is in at the scrapbook store as my design team entry for the next term. On the other side of the 2 pager was a very simple layout I did about Easter Sunday.

THE INSERT :

I added 1 insert this week. I took Design C and cut off the other side of the 4x6's. Added the tab from October Afternoon 9-5.

THE PICTURES :

Brush is from the Cobalt Digital Extra Elements.

We went to a park on the beach where they had an actual zip line. The kids loved it and rode it again, and again.

In the middle of the two photos I added a journaling space by using a foldable journaling card. I printed on both sides and then added my simple embellishments.

THE OTHER SIDE OF THE INSERT :

THE PICTURES :

Used the Ali Edwards Go Outside brush. Cut up one of the brushes and added ocean to the end.

THE LAST PAGE :

THE PICTURES :

Bought an IMac. My first one, although Patrick has his Macbook.

Bought the tramp for the backyard. An early Easter present to the kids.  Plus I couldn't pass up the  great sale !!

The easter bunny brought these two cuties for the girls. They HOP and WALK by themselves. They had fun racing them in the backyard.

Made a white boxed layer and reduced the opacity so that it was more transparent. Used this Ali Edwards Everday Journaling Prompts Brush.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

All the embellishments from October Afternoon 9-5.

The wood camera is from Studio Calico, I inked it blue to match better. So simple and fun.

Noah got new spiderman shoes this week.  It is his current obsession.

Wanted to add some of the clothing tags from our shopping trips this week.

And that is it for Week 14. Now it is on to Week 15.

** Also, this week is my Brothers wedding. So I will be back next week sometime after all the festivities.  So excited to see family and see my brother tie the knot !! ***

P.S. Thanks again for being patient with me and the old blog. Hopefully someday soon I can go back to the regular schedule. Until then, enjoy your summer.

Summer is upon us

Right now summer is in full force.

I feel like I haven't had to chance to catch my breath since summer began. Hopefully things will slow down this week for us.

The week after school let out we spent another day in Disneyland. Just me and the kids. Patrick was working in the area and so we went to stay with him. Anaheim just happened to be on our way to the hotel.

The next morning was spent here

And then we ventured here ( A cute little aquarium )

Then we went and spent the remainder of the afternoon here

It was an unexpected and wonderful trip to kick off the summer. We also got to meet up with my brother and his fiance for dinner. It was great to see them again. Super excited and can't wait for their wedding. In less than 2 weeks.

This past week I have had the kids in swim lessons. All three of them. So we have been spending our mornings at the pool.

Maddie is one of the kids hanging on the wall.

Me and Noah. I get to go in with Noah and I love it

I really appreciate you all being patient with me. It has been super quiet around here lately. I have been making some changes to my priority list and it is making everyone more happy.  Also this past week I was busy preparing for Noah's birthday party that was yesterday. All this has left me less time for being creative. I also have been so busy with summer that I have hardly touched my PL album !! Yikes.  I know. I am hoping that I can get another week done this week and share it with you before life gets crazy again. My parents are coming down for a visit before we all head down for the wedding festivities.

Until next time.

A Memorial Day Hike

Back on Memorial Day we set off for an adventure. The cooler was packed, the destination kind of up in the air, and the water bottles ready for a hike.  We set out in a general direction not knowing exactly where we were headed.  An hours long drive found us in a little town up in the mountains.  They just happened to have a great park, right by the river. A perfect place for a picnic.

First up was lunch. I had packed the cooler full of food and also grabbed some chips, cookies, ect., not knowing I had forgotten the loaf of bread for our sandwiches.  Thankfully there was a gas station across from the park that sold bread. We set up camp and ate our lunch. Then it was on to our next adventure.

We had done a little research before hand about the area that we were currently in. Without having ever been there we drove up the road, looking for a place to hike. We finally settled on a little trail that looked suitable.  The sign said Salmon Falls.

With Katelyn as our guide we ventured up the trail.

Finding HUGE pine cones along the way. Katelyn and Maddie wanted to take them home and on the way back there is a steep decline in the trail. We told them to just drop their pine cones down the trail and pick them up at the bottom so that they could focus on getting down the trail. They kept saying " Oh no !  Runaway pine cones !!" All the way down the hill.

There was hand holding

And stick finding.

And a whole lot of rock throwing by a certain boy.

There was also rock climbing, and daddy scaring the kids. He snuck behind Katelyn and grabbed her, scaring her real bad.

Last but not least, there was a lot of sunshine. It was a hot day and the sun was beating down on us.

It was a great day and we all were tired by the time we got home.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Project Life Week 13

Another week is in the books. Week 13 | March 26 to April 1.

This week was a full one. Patrick went to Houston for a conference and also took a side trip to the Johnson Space Center.

HERE IS THE FIRST PAGE :

This first page is all about Patrick's trip to Houston.

THE PICTURES :

Used an Ali Edwards Arrow.

Patrick's rental car while in Houston.

Used an Ali Edwards brush  for the bottom definition. Used a font for the word sunshine.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

LEFT SIDE : Stamped on the blank card before running it through the printer. The car on the bottom is a sticker from a sheet all about the Ford Mustang !!

RIGHT SIDE : Selfy taken on the beach after he took a run on the sand.

I asked Patrick to write a little something about his trip. It was to long for a single journaling card so I put it on two cards. Used the "Discover" word from Heidi Swap to connect the two journaling cards.
I lined the two cards together and then put the sticker on both of the card and cut it down the middle.

I had two inserts this week. They are both from the Johnson Space Center.

This first one is a 6x12 page protector. Added some journaling on the bottom. This is what it looks like layered in the book.  I had some leftover space themed stickers from a design team assignment that I used throughout the two inserts.

Here is a close up of journaling.

Here is the other side. This is one of HUGE engines that they use.

INSERT #2 :

I used a Becky Higgins page protector Design G. I cut the vertical strip off. Didn't need that many photos.

Here is one of the photos in the insert.

Here is the other side. More photos and stickers.

HERE IS THE LAST PAGE :

This side is the more everyday things that happen in our lives.

THE PICTURES :

Maddies new shoes. She wanted a picture of them !! Used an Ali Edwards Days of the week brush .

An instagram of the two kids waiting for Daddy's plane to come in. Used some of the Clementine cardstock to fill in the 4x6. The March sticker is from Little Yellow Bicycle.

Eggs. We colored them during preschool at our house.

The kids loved hunting for eggs. The word HUNT is from here.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

So sorry about these blurry, glary photos.

LEFT SIDE :

Used the day stickers to kind some up some of the things we did during the first part of the week.

RIGHT SIDE :

Easter brush from here.

LEFT SIDE :

Heart and Friday came from here. Just switched the heart to the front.

RIGHT SIDE :

I used this cute freebie that I found on pintrest. I was perfect for the story I wanted to tell about Noah and the conversations he had with his daddy.

That is it for week 13. Just started on week 14. Oh my is a HUGE week. LOTS happened. So it is going to take some time to sort through and get it done. I will share some photos from our hike soon though to hopefully tide you over.

I hope everyone has a great start to the summer tomorrow. My kids got out of school on Friday so it is officially summer now !! YEAH !!
