Week In The Life Tuesday

Day 2 and still going strong. Here are some of my favorite moments from yesterday.

Another food love in our household is toast. And it can't be just any toast, it has to be toast with only butter. According to Maddie !! Love it !! I guess you have to be here to see the whole cuteness in the phrase !  So we had toast with only butter as part of our breakfast this morning.

Tuesday means preschool day. Maddie loves it and begs and begs to do "PRESCHOOL" !! We color, we learn, we glue, we play, we read, and we discover new things. We are learning about apples.

Maddie and her letter A and her apples that she glued on her A.  She was very proud.

9 : 30 and Noah has the trains out already

Maddie and Noah playing My little Ponies

Noah likes to be the big boy monster and knock down toys of his sisters and so this is from time out #2

A little Mario Cart Wii this afternoon.

Time for snack time. Cereal is always the snack of choice, but seldom is it given.

Should have known not to give cereal for snack time. You turn your back and you get this !Thank you Noah.

After snack time it was playtime. Katelyn was first the librarian and then the teacher. It was so cute to see her play the teacher.

I am truly blessed to have a husband that likes to cook spagetti from scratch.

There is no better way to end a day than a bike ride with daddy.

That's all for now. Until tomorrow.

Week In The Life Monday

Camera ready. Check.
Family warned about Mommy taking too many pictures. Check.
Papers printed for journaling. Check.
Backup camera battery charged. Check.

Ok. I think I'm ready.

Ready. Set. Go.

I embarked on this magical journey Monday morning at 7: 22 am called Week In The Life. Seeing as it is our third time doing the project I knew the task ahead of me. Lots of writing things down, lots of picture taking, lots of memory recording. Lots of love. I was ready.

For those of you who don't know what I am referring to, here's a brief explanation. Ali Edwards started this project called Week in the life. For seven days you take pictures, journaling about the everyday happenings, the little things, the big things, the ups and downs, and of course your journaling. You can check out more about here project on her blog here.

Here are some of my favorite shots from Monday:

Most mornings Noah prefers to eat his cereal in a ziplock bag on the go. He can't sit still in the mornings. So what does he do while he eats breakfast, plays with it in his bulldozer of course.

Making the bed first thing in the morning, or else it might not get done.

Oatmeal. The breakfast of choice around here.

I can be found here first thing after breakfast. Checking email, facebook, blogs, ect.

Mondays are designated laundry and clean the house day. Usually I do 3-4 loads on Monday with a few more to follow later in the week.

Monday chores.

Maddie declared that we are having a tea party. I had to wear a skirt, crown, and necklace.

Noah got to wear the shoes !! Lucky him !! I wanted the shoes !

Noah's car room. All clean.

Noah is in love with this particular blanket. He has to have it to sleep with, to comfort him, and to play with.

Three towels. We have a firefighter, princess, and lion after bath time.

Noah loves to help in the kitchen. Us making dinner.

Cool off before dinner.

Daddy splashing in the kiddie pool.

Patrick on the slide.

That's it for today. I'm off to capture today.

Project Life Week 19

I am on a roll. Here is the first page of week 19 :

Maddie and Katelyn gave me a flower that they got at church for Mother's day. Since I was gone all day on Mother's day they gave it to me on Monday. Here is a close up :

My mother was so sweet and left 4 care packages for us when she left. The girls were so excited !! They love packages. So the bottom pictures are of the packages and then one of the handwritten notes my mom left for us. Each package had something that reminded the kids of grandmas house. Chocolate chips, juice, popcorn, crayons, ect. So fun!! Thanks Grandma !!

Here are the journaling cards :

Here is the second page :

Maddie and Noah playing the Wii together. They have so much fun laughing, trying to drive the mario carts together. Of course Noah doesn't know how to play yet, but don't try to tell him that !!

Katelyn playing in the sprinklers :

My coupon binder all set up and ready for savings !!

Before we moved in the builder put in the backyard, grass, sprinklers, trees, and flowers. We went over the day that they were putting it in to check it out. Looks so good.

Here are the journaling cards :

I had two pages of extras from this week. We took a trip to a local park on Saturday that week. I put it together in photoshop and then printed it 6x12 at home. The days strip is from Ali's week in the life album from last year. Other brushes are from her as well. Here is the first page.

Here is the second page :

That's it. Short post today. Getting ready for Week in the life starting tomorrow. I'll post pics throughout the week. Stay tuned.

Just like that

And just like that, I have a first grader and an official preschooler. Where did the time go ? Seriously, it seems just like yesterday that I was dropping Katelyn off for her very first day of preschool when she was three. This week both girls started their school routines, school lunches, backpacks, homework, letters, crayons, ect. It was kind of bittersweet. I was so excited for Katelyn, to start a new school year, a new school, all day school. I was so excited to have Maddie start a neighborhood Friday morning preschool and for me and her to start our own preschool here at home. Here are some pictures from our week :

Katelyn's first day :  Here she is with her littlest pet shop backpack and lunch box

Here she is in front of the school : I wanted to get the name of the school with her.

Throughout the week I have learned that in the morning all the kids pile all their backpacks together and then go play until the bell rings. See below. Katelyn's backpack is the purple, littlest pet shop one on the top, center pile.

Here is the lunch box bucket :

Every morning at the sound of the bell the kids are supposed to line up. So I wanted to document that. Her line is the one on the right and she is second in line. Not surprised at all, she is usually the first in line. She loves to be first. So funny.

Here is Katelyn's classroom door. Her teacher is Mrs. Younger.

That's it for Katelyn.

Maddie and I are doing preschool at home for two reasons. #1. I did not want to fork over two hundred dollars a month for preschool. #2. I couldn't find any preschool that was less than 150 dollars a month that had an opening. Apparently $150 is the norm for preschool !! I was floored. So I ordered a program called the learning box from a referral. So far it will be great. And then also some of the ward members here are doing a Friday morning preschool. We will rotate each week, each week someone will host it at their house. So I am so excited for her to be able to socialize with some other kids. On tuesday we officially started preschool. Thursday the Learning Box, box came. So here are some pictures from that day.

The daily lesson was on apples and the colors red and green. Of course she knows all her colors, shapes, and letters but it was fun to do the different activities like finding something in the room that was red. We learned how apples grow and she colored an apple book. She colored her apple seed in a rainbow color !! So cute.
We even had show and tell. See packed up some of the littlest pet shops and put them in her backpack before we started. See below.

This morning was the first Friday preschool. Here are some pictures from this morning

That concludes this back to school blog post. It was a fun and exhausting week. I am so glad it's Friday. I am just not used to getting up early and it is really draining me right now. So hopefully we can all get used to this new schedule.

I have finished another Project Life week so I will share that probably tomorrow.  I told you I was on a roll !! Have a wonderful weekend everyone.
