Project Life Week 22

I quickly finished up another week over these past few days. Not much happened this week. A lot of water, bbq's, and dirt. Quick, simple, easy, that sums up this week. No extra's. No activities. But still our life documented.

Here is the first page.

Monday we had a BBQ for Memorial Day. Yumm  For some reason the picture didn't save right so no picture to show you.

This is Noah playing peek a boo !  The brush is from Ali Edwards Life in Pictures brush set.

Katelyn playing in the mud this week as we tried to plant the garden.

Blooming flowers in the backyard are so beautiful.

Peek A Boo journaling card from Making Memories

Got Katelyn invloved this week. I let her write what she wanted about her picture.

Here is the second page

The two girls were playing in the mud that I made. I was trying to soak the soil so that I could dig it up for the garden but even that didn't work. The ground is so hard here. They played with their small dinosaurs out in the mud.

Me and the girls out trying to get some dirt in the grow box.

Noah loves the water. He even likes to splash the hose right in his face !! Go figure.  Another Ali Edwards life in pictures brush.

We spent the weekend painting the front room. The picture is not that great and it doesn't show the real colors of the room. But we did an accent wall in green, which is much darker in real life. Another Ali Brush.

A review of the week.

BBQ Smoked Chicken. YUM !!

Jounraling about painting our house.

Took the two paint sample pages and put them on a journaling card. Wanted to show the two colors.

That does it for Week 22. Almost half way done. Feels good, but I am still way behind. Oh well. I am still LOVING this project. Are you doing Project Life ? Thinking about it ? The new Project Life Albums come out in a few months and I can't wait. They both look great and I can't decide for sure but I am leaning towards Clementine( I think that was the one). And I am running low on plain journaling cards. Can't wait. Until then I will keep going on my 2011 album. Have a great weekend. We are heading to the County Fair tomorrow night.

Project Life Week 21

It has been so long since I have posted about Project Life so if you have been waiting for some more, here you go. This week was MAGICAL !! Literally, true magic. Our family's first lost tooth, a day trip to Disneyland, a celebration of a birthday, and painting of a certain two little girls room pink. It was so fun and it makes me want to plan our next Disneyland trip. So without further ado - Here is the first page :

Katelyn's tooth was loose for quite a while and it finally fell out on Monday at school. She was eating lunch.

We always knew that we needed to get the girls bunkbeds for their new room and so today I went and picked some up. They are in heaven.

Katelyn at Disneyland looking at her map and telling us where SHE wanted to go.

This journaling card I found a free tooth clipart and then journaled inside of it.

Bunkbeds journaling card.

This card talks about Katelyn and her Disneyland map. The font is a Disneyland font that I purchased a few years ago that looks like the exact writing of Disneyland. I love it and used it throughout this week.

The next journaling card place is where I put our Disneyland tickets. Just slipped them in.

I added four extra pages this week. The first one is a picture of the two girls in front of the Castle. Included some of their conversation onto the picture. I used one of Cathy Z's template for this page.  IT is an 8.5 x11 print.

The second page is a full 8.5 x11 print that I journaled on a making memories journaling card that I had. We got so lucky to just happened to find Sleeping Beauty(Maddie's favorite) walking past and she stopped for a quick hug. I love Disneyland.

Here is the next extra page. I used a divided page protector from We R Memory Keepers. It has 3 4x6 pockets and then a 6x12 pocket next to it and it is so fun to use. I was able to put three pictures and then my journaling from the day next to it.

Here are the three pictures :

Patrick's birthday pin. It's a tradition to get him a birthday pin. I think this was the third time being there on his birthday. I love that he loves Disneyland.

For the journaling card I just resized one of Ali Edward's Long Journalers to 6x12 left some room on the bottom for my paper strip. Took my journaling from my iphone that I had jotted down that particular day, emailed it to myself, copy and pasted, and then inserted it into my journaler. Simple. Put a rub-on on the top and a few more and then my strip on the bottom. Simple and I love the end result. The journaling is called WALTOGRAPH and I love it.

Journaling -

Woke up at 7am. Patricks birthday.
Says, let's take a drive down south. Ok.
Left at nine. Girls excited. Noah got
an hour nap on the way down. Got
tickets went to have lunch. Winnie the
pooh ride was our first ride of the day.
Katelyn and me did big thunder mountain.
She though it wad scary and didn't want
to do it again. Before lunch saw
sleeping beauty. girls got a hug! Lots of
finger pointing and saying look at that
from noah. and lots of jabbering.
Toddlers at Disneyland are not a good
fit. Got Patrick a Happy Birthday pin.
Loved the tea cups. Did all the kiddie
rides. Maddie loved thunder mountain.
Saw goofy and Minnie. Noah got sad
when she had to take a break and said
“she go bye bye”. Waved at her and said
bye bye when we were done. He can also
saw Minnie and Mickey now. Bought him
a Mickey. Mostly chewed on it,
occasionally gave it a hug. Maddie got a
Minnie. She went everywhere with her.
To dinner, on dumbo, strapped into the
carousel horse, tucked into her skirt in
the toy story ride. Saw Candy and said
hi to her. Had dinner and then a few
more rides before heading home.
May 25, 2011.

The next extra page was just full of photos that I wanted to include. Here is a look :

Here are some of the photos up close.

Font is again Waltograph and the love is from Ali Edward's love embellishment collection.

The brush is from Ali's The story of this day brushes set

Here is the second page :

Maddie and her Minnie Mouse. Brush is from Ali's outlined moments brushes set

Me and the kids riding the Tea cups. Which we rode a lot !! I love this shot that Patrick got of us, he did a good job of getting us in focus and then everything else is blurry !!

Patrick painting the girls room pink.

I had two journaling card spaces left over so I added two more pictures from Disneyland.

I had saved the paint sample card from the store and cut it to fit into the journaling card slot. I journaled onto it and then added the date.

That is it folks. Another week done and documented. So on to the next week. See you next time.

Week In The Life Monday

I found a few minutes to finish up Monday. It is definitely simpler than last year, (although different) but I do like the look of it all this year. So I am happy with the results. I probably could do more to it as well, but I really need to get it done and move on to other things that also need finishing.  I did most of it digitally. Basically to save time. I got the Ali Edwards kit for this year and loved it.

For the first page I took Trisha Harrison's idea of a hybrid page and copied it. I knew I wanted to do a hybrid version but just didn't know how I wanted to go about it. I saw what Trisha did and knew that was the solution. You can take a look at her finished book here. I printed the page minus the picture on to cardstock and then printed the picture out, cut it out, and then adhered the picture to the card stock. Then added pattern paper and embellishments. Simply yet looks good. I plan to continue the theme all the way through the seven days. The picture on the front page is of the kids and Patrick out on the slip n' slide with a Ali Edwards brush added to the bottom. Here is the first page for Monday.

The next page is the journaling for Monday. I used an Ali Edwards Long Journaler, sized it to 4x11, put Monday on the top, added my text, added an Ali Edwards brush to the bottom and printed. Turned out great, again I was going for simple. Stitched up the side of a 8.5 x11 page protector and trimmed the excess. Here is the journaling page.

I always take way more pictures than I need for the day so I used the backside of my journaling page to add some more pictures. I created a 4x11 layer in photoshop, cropped my pictures, and then printed them out. I didn't add anything to them this year. Trying to save on time. The picture are Noah trying to put together his bottle in the morning, Maddie and Me at the Tea Party, and Noah on the slip n' slide. Here is the picture strip.

So I did three pages of picture collages. I always find that I can never narrow it down to just 5 pictures so that they all fit on one page. I did put extra pictures in the baseball card page protectors two years but still don't like the look of it, so I just ended up doing two extra pages of collages. Here is the first one.

Second Page

Third page.

That is it for Monday. I didn't add much to the digital pages as they are pretty full as it is. I can't wait to finish the rest of the days.  I'm off to prepare a preschool lesson for tomorrow, it is our turn to host Friday preschool. And it's also Thursday and that means some of my favorite shows are on tonight, Yeah !!

Thankful for today

Today I am thankful for a dryer that dries things super fast when I am in a hurry.

Today I am thankful for a husband that works 16 hours days just so we can have a wonderful roof over our heads.

Today I am thankful for three healthy, wonderful, and somethings challenging children. Without them my life would not be complete.

Today I am thankful for McDonald's drive thru's. And ice cream cones.

Today I am thankful for my favorite shows back on television.

Today I am thankful for nice weather. Although it is still in the 90's.

Today I am thankful for technology that allows me to stay connected with my family and friends.

Today I am thankful for a great diaper deal just in the nick of time.

Today I am thankful for wonderful mother who I can call up at anytime to talk to. About anything.

With that said I will leave you with a digital two page layout I finished about 2009's Thanksgiving lunch/dinner that I made all by myself, including the turkey. I have never even attempted something like this by myself and it turned out great. The journaling is not on the actual page put on a seperate page in my Project Life album.

I have also been so busy lately with Maddie's preschool, Noah deciding that he is now going to become a terrible toddler, and weening him off his pacifer during the day, and at night and nap times. Among other things like taking care of Katelyn and her homework, school stuff, the housework, Patrick being sick and now being at work all day and night. So I have finished Mondays week in the life but just have to type up the journaling and then I can share. Oh yeah, and trying to get ready for a crop on Saturday. So enough said, I need to go to bed because a certain toddler is going to get up way to early tomorrow morning. We need to work on that too !! Uhhh !!

The great Lake Isabella

About an hours drive up the canyon there is a large lake name Lake Isabella. It is a wonderful lake, full of nice warm water and plenty of sandy beaches. My Parents had brought down their waverunners when they visited so that we could visit the lake. We went twice last week and loved it both times. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults. The first day we tried for a while to get the girls to go on the waverunners. For the time being they were perfectly content with swimming in the lake, and playing in the mud. Later that day we got them both to go on the waverunners and then we couldn't get them off !! Even the second day, all they wanted to do was have someone take them on the waverunners. Katelyn loved to chase the boats and do donuts with grandpa or daddy. Maddie loved to fast on the second day and go on "ADVENTURES" , as she called them. Noah was not impressed by the waverunners, or "BOATS", as he called them. He cried every time we tried to get him to go, and every time we asked he would say "NO".  We lucked out both days to find some shade under some trees on the beach. It was the perfect set up, the weather was even great. It was almost in the 100's. On Monday, Labor day my brother came up to the lake with us, and it was really great to have him there. We all had a great time, and it was good to just relax. Here are some pictures from our lake trips.

Staying super busy here. Working on my Project Life week. Just about done, and then trying to squeeze in some Week In The Life here and there. Almost done with Monday. So hope to share those with you soon.
