I am 8 !

Hello everyone !

I wanted to pop in today and share some pages that I have completed using my March kit from NoelMignon.com.

Over the years I have been meaning to complete birthday pages for all the kids. But I haven't actually gotten around to it. Or taken the time to ask the kids questions like I did this year with the girls.

I took some time to ask both of the girls (who just had birthdays) some questions and let them answer. I chose to get Maddie's pages done for my Design Team assignment.

Here are some close ups.

Maddie with her eight fingers up because she is eight now.

Wrote down some tid bits about Maddie.

I knew that I wanted to ask some questions and let her answer them. But I didn't want to try to work around divided page protectors. So I decided to use a 6x12 page protector. I printed out a 4x6 photo and added it to the top. Then printed the word "eight " on to vellum.

I took these questions from a template from Ali Edwards that I purchased a while ago.

I decided to keep things kind of simple for this one. I wanted the photos and journaling to take center stage.

I really want to try and do this with the kids every year. I took some time and looked back. The last time I did this with the girls was when Maddie was 4 years old ! Wow, I really need to be better about writing down things that they like, do, don't like, ect. for every year.

Here's to making that happen.

That's it for today. Stay tuned tomorrow I have a Becky Higgins Design Team spread to share !

Project Life Week 12

Good morning everybody !!

I am here with you today sharing my Project Life Week 12.

This particular week I completed for a project for the NoelMignon Design Team. All this week they are having an online crop with daily challenges and prizes over on the members Facebook group !! Check it out, it's sure to be lots of fun ! NoelMignon Members is the group.

Each member of the Design Team picked a challenge and I picked "Documenting Life At Home."

I told the story of our dinner routine and how all the kids have to take turns sitting next to daddy. One night at dinner I took some photos of Noah sitting in the beloved dinner chair right before we ate. I used the journaling card to tell the story.

Another story I told this week, and I have done so in past albums, is of when daddy gets home. All the kids drop whatever they are doing and run to him. They are getting so big now that they almost topple him over every night.

Last week two of the kids got skateboards. I had fun taking some photos of Noah on his skateboard one afternoon. I took a whole bunch of great shots, thinking of doing a spread to add to his album.

** Don't be afraid to get down on the ground to get the perfect shot. I laid down on the sidewalk for these but it was sooooo worth it !! Even if my neighbors think I am the crazy camera lady !! Ha Ha. I think they are used to it by now and know me well with my camera in my hand ! **

This past weekend we had a combined birthday party for the girls. They are into Ever After High so that is the theme we went with. Their favorite character at the moment is Madeline Hatter, daughter of the Mad Hatter. So we had a Mad Tea Party, took some fun photos and that was it !! It was fun.

All the characters at the school or either Royals or Rebels.

One more close up. A low of the week for me was being sick. I also journaled a little bit about my future dreams for our new home.

That is it for me today. I'm off to finish my week 8 today and post it sometime this week !!

Around Here

Around here I have been spending lots of time in bed. I am trying to get over this bad cold I have.

Around here I have been thinking about paint colors. As you can see I tried one out already.

Around here I have birthday party prepping. The girls are having a joint birthday party tomorrow.

Around here I have been playing with my Story Kit from Ali Edwards. More on this later when I finish week 8.

Around here We have been weeding the flower beds and getting our garden boxes in the ground. It was 90 degrees last weekend and the kids were hot. So we thought we'd help them out by drenching them in a bucket of ice water.

Around here I have been working on my Week 8 of Project Life.

Around here I have been trying to get some exercise. That is until I got my cold and didn't want to even get out of bed. I logged 13.5 miles last week and only 2 this week.

Around here the kids have been spending most afternoons out and about with the neighbor kids.

Around here I am looking forward to feeling better and getting the girls birthday party done tomorrow.

Around here we have been enjoying some great sunsets.

Around here we celebrated pi day last Friday. It is tradition to have pizza and pie

Around here the kids are being introduced to skateboards. Heaven help me.

Around here we had a visit from a little leprechaun.

Around here we still haven't had our mini St. Patrick's Day photo shoot.  Planning on next week.

Around here I look forward to finishing up some projects : Week 8 in my PL, finish weeding and plant some more flowers and bushes in the front yard, get some things up on the walls in my scrap room, finish up the garden boxes and plant our veggies.

Stay tuned next week. For I should be back to blogging again !!

Have a wonderful weekend everybody.

A few introductions + A Field Trip

                        I have a confession.

I don't really like my picture being taken or trying to write about myself. Don't get me wrong, I love to scrapbook and document my families lives. But seldom, rather hardly ever, do I take a picture of just me, and journal about myself.

Well, this past week I decided to change that. I was so inspired with the Simple Stories "I AM" collection that I created a page all about ME ! This months Daily Diary Kit from NoelMignon.com is called Shine Bright. If you have seen a glimpse yet your missing out. It has lots of Simple Stories and MME !! Plus the colors, oh the colors. Gorgeous ! It has been so fun to design pages with these kits.

I created an insert page to go in between my week 9 pages that I shared last week. Now it's nothing too exciting. But I have to say that I am loving how this page turned out.

I wanted to include a few details about what I was watching on t.v. right now. I think this will be fun to look back on in 5 or even 10 years.

Aren't these brushes fabulous ?!!! You can find them here. They are by Little Lamm Co.

For this photo I cut out the " I AM from one of the journaling cards and used that for my journaling prompt. I added some I AM responses digitally to my photo before printing.

A few fun filler cards. All materials from the NoelMignon.com March kit.

I added one more journaling card. A few more tidbits about me currently. Another one of those fun brushes.

I encourage everyone out there to do a page that is all about you !! It might not be your favorite thing to do, but your story is IMPORTANT !! Tell your story.

I also did a page about my Daughter's Fourth Grade School Field Trip.  It was all day sort of thing and for weeks before she kept begging me and my husband to go. One or the other, she desperately wanted someone to go. It worked out that my husband took the day off of work and went with her and her class.

This journaling card came together rather easily. I have used lots of stripes for these two pages and the gold striped paper was perfect. I trimmed it to go in the corner and leave room for my journaling. Actually it is my husbands journaling. I asked him to write about their day since I was not able to make it.

I chose to highlight a quote that my daughter said that day by making that part of the font bold. It is simple to do and I love how it stands out from the rest of the journaling.

A fun filler card. I love globes and so this card was a no brainer for this page.

A simple journaling card. I asked my daughter to tell me about her day and I typed it up on this card.

I used this photo as a sort of title card.

One last journaling card.

That is all that I have to share today. Have a great day everyone !

P.S. Go out and make a page about you !! You won't regret it.

More Cheese Please !! Documenting Disney Magic.

Hello everyone. Happy Monday to you all.

I am super excited to be able to share some Disney Project Life pages with you today. I did these for a Simple Stories Design Team project using their Say Cheese 2 line.

You guys, if you have Disney pictures to scrapbook then you have to see this Simple Stories stuff. It is so perfect and awesome. Okay moving on now.

I was able to finish 2 pocket pages plus a smaller 6x12 insert for this project. Here is a look at the left side and then the insert.

Here is my title card. Since these photos were random Disney photos I used the Disney Castle Die Cut and some other embellishments. In this new Say Cheese 2 collection, there are some gold foiled pieces that are so cool.  You can't really tell from the photos, believe me it was super hard to photograph. But in real life these pieces are great. The wish circle is gold foiled.

A few photos and journaling cards.

I used a photo overlay on top of this photo aboard Dumbo. I added the gold heart underneath the overlay so that it had a layered look.

Me and Maddie decided to not ride the roller coaster and to wait for the others. Well, we got bored. And started making funny faces and texting them to Patrick and the others. We had so much fun !!

These are some filler cards I created.

This one has one of the gold photo overlays over top of the journaling card. Another new thing this year is the wood veneers, super fun.

Here is the other side of both the insert and the 12x12 page.

One side of the insert was all about Mickey and the other side was about Minnie.

This little Minnie Bow is a sticker folks, isn't it soooooo cute !! I just had to add it to the Mickey ears.

One of my favorite moments of the trip. This was our first day and we had not made it over to cars land yet. We happened to be in the right spot to catch the parade. Noah was overjoyed to see his favorite character at the time, Mater, driving his way ! It was simply magical.

Our kids love the Redwood Creek Trail area over in California adventure. They beg and beg to go over there all the time when we are at Disneyland. This is a picture of Maddie climbing the rock wall inside of a chipboard frame.

I used another chipboard piece as a frame.

I added some journaling onto this card and used the wood veneer word "magic".

I've still got some more pages to complete of our Disney trip back in 2012. I can't wait to do some more using the Say Cheese line from Simple Stories. So much fun !

Thanks for coming ! Stay tuned tomorrow. I have some more Project Life Inspiration for you !

Family time and a great view

Hey everybody !! Happy Friday.

I want to share some pages I submitted this month for the Project Life Becky Higgins Creative Team.

I used the Heidi Swapp Foil Value Kit again. Yes again, I just can't help it !! I'm in love with the colors, and the hint of gold. Oh I can't forget the pops of pink !

These photos were from last summer. My mom was here for a long visit and we went down to visit my brother and sister in law. One afternoon we took a drive along the coast and then went for a hike down to the beach.

A simple title card.

Photo from our hike. It was such a beautiful view all the way down to the water.

Here is a look at the right side.

When we made it down to the water there was this big log. It was the perfect spot to house all the kids shoes, and for the adults to sit and chat.

I used a photo overlay from the Desktop edition.

More fun photos. I added a few embellishments from the Value kit, a strip of washi tape, and some letter stickers. All can be found in the Becky Higgins shop.

Have a weekend everyone !!
