The making of Frosty
Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow should be the theme song as of late. No matter what I say, no matter how much I complain, it still keeps coming !! Well, so Katelyn decided that we needed to go out and enjoy the cold, fluffy stuff know as snow. As you can see Maddie did not have the share the same enthusiasm as her sister. She cried most of the time. The next picture was of Katelyn helping me !! Or should I say not helping with the construction of Frosty. That was okay because Maddie got down and helped roll snow balls for me. The next picture is of Frosty all stacked together or so you could say. Doesn't he look a little bare !! So I run back in the house to find some accessories for poor old frosty !! The next picture is of Maddie crying again because she wanted to eat the candies instead of making a mouth for Frosty !! Poor Maddie, I am such a mean mother. We used Junior mints left over from Halloween for his eyes, and mouth. Katelyn helped alot with dressing Frosty and I am sure Patrick was real proud to see that Frosty had on a Deer Valley hat !! All in all, we had a good time and we enjoyed our day in the snow, despite it being cold and wet !!
Long live Frosty !

New room and bed
This all started when Katelyn didn't want to go to bed at night. Over a span of a week it got worse and worse. She finally said that she didn't like her bed and that she wanted a new one. We tried to ask her what the problem was with her current bed but really couldn't get a straight answer. We were going to get her a big bed but not for at least six months. So that maddie could have the toddler bed and then we would get her a big girl bed. Well one night Katelyn came into our room crying and carrying on, refusing to go back to bed in her room. The next morning the search for a new bed was started. I search on ksl.com classifieds and found this adorable bed 5 minutes from our house and set up a time to go and look at it and bring it home. Katelyn could not contain her excitement all day. Every so often she would ask if it was time to go get her new bed. We went and picked up the bed, tied it to the roof and brought it home. And I only paid $125.00 for bed and the mattress !! And the mattress was brand new - still with the tags. Grandpa put it together for us(thank you again). We borrowed some sheets and then Katelyn went to bed early with no fuss. We have had no problems since then. The next morning i ordered her comforter, room accesories that I had already picked out a while ago. Here are some of the pictures of her room. So all together we have a new room, new bed, and a new big, big girl. I just can't believe that she is old enough to sleep in a big bed! Oh dear. What is next.

Halloween night
Since Thanksgiving is coming up I had better post some Halloween pictures. The girls were so cute in their costumes. This year Katelyn knew exactly what trick or treating was all about and was so excited to hit the streets. We had chili and scones for dinner and then costumes. Then we went out in the neighborhood for some trick or treating. Maddie got the hang of it and would try to keep up with katelyn as they ran from house to house. Then we went to Grandma Merrell's house.

BOO at the ZOO
I wanted to take the girls to the " Boo at the Zoo" event at Hogle Zoo. So we got Grandma Merrell up a little early (for her- thanks Grandma) and drove up to the Zoo. It was so packed with goblins, cute penguins, and of course the cutest super girl I have ever seen That I had to stalk someone in the parking lot to get a parking spot. We made it in the doors and went on our way. Finding places to get candy(Maddie's favorite part) and checking out the animals. The weather was wonderful. The had 25 different places to trick or treat at. We got some great treats, chocolate milk, free kids meals to chick filla and much more. By the fourth place Maddie knew exactly what to do. Go up to the ladies with the candy and put up her pumpkin and magically candy was placed into the bottom. Maddie was in heaven. They had it all decorated for halloween. The even had some big corn stocks, or whatever it was, the girls went into the corn field and had so much fun playing peek a boo with mommy and grandma. Katelyn's favorite part was the band. Yes, they had a bunch of guys singing kids songs. We did the hocky pocky and she danced and danced. They also had a professional
photographer taking pictures. I got some of the girls and they are sure cute. I can share them when i get them in the mail. When we first went up to get pictures done, Katelyn didn't want to get hers done. We begged, pleaded, nothing would work. She kept saying later mommy. So we went off to see the giraffes and the tiger. And then she announced that she was ready to get her picture taken. We promptly went down and got her picture taken. And she was so cute posing like a super girl. By that time we had to go so off we went back to the car. I would definately do it next year and I would tell everyone to go. It was so much fun.

Go Utes !!!!
I has been a
tradition since before the kids were here to go to the Utes football games. This year was no different. About three weeks ago we took the girls to the Ute/Colorado State game. The weather was perfect and the girls were well behaved. Grandpa Niebuhr also came with us. (Even though he is a true BYU fan). He was so nice to Katelyn and let her use his binoculars. Maddie loved to clap and cheer for our team. We even got her to kind of say GO UTES !! It was so cute. The Utes are currently undefeated this year and we plan to keep it that way. Bet you didn't know that I was a huge sports fan did you !! Well I am. I love most sports and watch way more than Patrick does. Well two more games to go and then hopefully off the a BSC bowl. Go UTES, GO UTES !!

Bun in the oven ?
Mommy told the girls that there was a bun in the oven. They were confused at first but i told them to look. Katelyn said I don't see anything so we opened it up but still nothing. So if you haven't guessed by now, yes mommy is pregnant !! Surprise !! Wow is all i can say. It has been a big shocker to us all but we are so thrilled to be adding another little one to the family. That is why i have been slacking on the blogging lately. I am seriously sick all day and all night !! But I promise to get caught up soon. Keep in touch, you never know what will happen next !! That is all for now. Take care everyone.

At the patch
I have been slacking at putting up pictures on the blog. So I am sorry. I have been really sick this last week so I want to play catchup. Here is some pics from the pumkin patch. We had great weather when we went out to the patch. I just have to say Maddie is obsessed with pumkins. She loves them. She went around trying to pick all of them up. Katelyn loved it too. She took her time and searched for the perfect pumpkin and even helped me find mine. We plan to carve them today! Yes, i know it is a little late but not much time all together. Well Happy Halloween everyone. Be safe. .

Fall Family photos
We always start out fall with a family photo shoot. We had planned on doing it two weeks earlier and it rained on us, and then the next weekend it rained !! So we had to settle for last wednsday. It was cold and very windy. Oh well, we did get a few good shots. We found this wonderful field up Big Cottongwood Canyon. The girls loved it, especially Katelyn. She ran and ran thought the field. Maddie also had a great time, at points the weeds were taller than she was !! We also took some with the trees that are changing colors. Happy Fall everyone.

Bowling
It is Fall break at the U for Patrick so that means no school all this week. We both took off work this whole week. We took the girls bowling a few days ago and we all had so much fun. Katelyn insited on carrying her own ball up to the ramp and pushing all by herself. Maddie loved, loved, loved it when the balls would come back up from the machine(not sure what it is called). She also loved to stand there by the balls and touch them and try to pick them up. I have learned that i am a horrible bowler and it is pretty sad when your two kids can score more than you !! Oh well it was fun.

Nature Walk
In the light of it being fall, the leaves are changing, the weather is cooling. I took the girls up to the Temple Quary trail for a walk, adventure. The girls had a wonderful time. They walked down the trail holding hands and were so cute. They loved it. We found a lot of great things to see, changing leaves, big rocks to climb on, and even a pet rock to take home(his name is rocko - Katelyn named him). The weather was perfect and I enjoyed it as well. Maddie loved to climb the rock. Although I think she was a little scared because she said "scary" at the top !! She is saying new words every day. Katelyn found a break in two big rocks and thought it was her own playhouse. She loved climbing up between the big rocks. Happy Fall everyone.

Shoe obsession
I think I have a dancer on my hands. And I couldn't be happier !! Let me explain. Ever since Maddie has discovered Katelyn's tap shoes , she has insisted on having them on. First thing in the morning I pick her up from her crib, change her diaper, get her clothes on, and then she points to the closet. I know what she wants and so we put her tap shoes on. No socks, just shoes. Forget about normal shoes, it is the tap shoes and only the tap shoes. Forget about trying to put normal shoes on(we have gone to Smith's many times with tap shoes on her feet). She wears them pretty much all day long. Sometimes insisting on taking them to bed with her. I don't know what is so intriguing about these tap shoes, maybe it is the sound, the shininess of the shoes. Who knows, but I just can't wait to put her in dance !! We are so proud. Tap on sister.

Best of Show
I recently entered some of my scrapbook pages in the State Fair. To much to my surprise, I received a Best of Show ribbon !! I was totally and completely shocked !! I just wanted to enter some pages and see what happened. So there you go. I didn't even want to post about it but Patrick said I should. I also received two first place ribbons and one 5th place ribbon as well. So I was thrilled !! Scrapbooking is my favorite hobby and I am so blessed to be able to capture our families stories and pictures for everyone to enjoy. Happy scrapping !!
