Project Life Week 8

Hello everyone.

I was able to squeeze in some time to get my PL week 8 done.  I have to apologize if some, or most of you, are sick of seeing pictures of our new house. This week was almost all dedicated to it ! I just can't help but get excited about it all ! I didn't take many photos this week but knew that I had a ton of photos from the house. And it turned out great. I hope you like it.

Here is the first page.

I had the Becky Higgins Design B page protectors to work with from the previous week. And it turned out to be just what I needed. I had a lot of photos that I wanted to include for week 8.

The title card and the first photo. The photo is of an instagram I took of the girls. In between riding their bikes they came up with the idea to race Noah's cars down the driveway.

I cut out the yellow "awesome" banner from the Studio Calico Project Life kit.  To print out the instagram I simply cropped it to 4x4 and put it on a 4x6 layer, added my journaling and printed.

I held an imprompto mini photo shoot for Katelyn over the weekend. Just went to the side of the house and took some quick shots. I need some photos for her baptism (which happened last weekend) invitations. (In our church, they do this at age 8).

Added this great brush from Ali Edwards.

The second page. More house photos. I promise they will end, we are moving in soon !!

I wanted to include a visual- right on the picture of the "new" things that were happening with our new home this week, because as you can see a lot has happened.

Took the top half of a blank journaling card and printed it on it. Stapled it to the photo with my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. Love that thing. It saves me a lot of time, just staple and your done.

Our kitchen as it looks right now. Took the word "Hello from the HELLO SCHOOL - Ali Edwards brush kit.

This is a bad shot of our backyard but it was all shady at the time that I was there.  I used an old frame from my stash to frame my journaling that I printed right on the photo. Again, used staples to attach. The banner "So Very Happy" is from the Studio Calico Kit."You could use the new Studio Calico frames for this type of look as well. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those.

** Sorry - this one didn't photograph well**

The kids always beg me to "Go see the house". Every day, it's never ending. And this scene is what you will usually see when we are out there. They gather up all the FUN things that you can find on an active construction site and make stuff with it.  They could literally be out there all day. So I wanted to get a photo of them out in the backyard "making stuff".

This first journaling card I used a sticker from October Afternoon. Added my journaling and the wood arrows from Studio Calico.
The second one is some paper from Dear Lizzy, the brads are also from Lizzy.

I stapled a business card onto one of the journaling cards from our trip out to the home and Garden Show. Fun way to remember that we received lots of these. It was so much fun !!
The second card I used the home brush from Karla Dudley. You can find it here.  It is part of her Christmas brush collection. I turned the color to gray and added the words to the top.

That is it for week 8. I am going to see if I can get a start on week 9 soon. But we are hoping to move in next weekend, pending what day we get the keys to our new house. This will be the last post for a little while until I can hook up the computer and un-bury all my scrapbooking supplies. Please be patient with me as me and my family start fresh in our new home. I will be back, maybe soon with moving pictures !! Until then, carry on and keep scrapbooking.

I don't even know you, but I'm enjoying seeing your house photos. It takes my back 12 years to when we built ours. Ahhh, the memories! Most were good. :)

Your new home looks fantastic! Take your time getting settled, we have all moved and know what a chore it is. We built out house 10 years ago before we had our boys, I am sure moving with kids is much more difficult. We will be here when you are done. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Hi there. Did you use a digital brush to do the word "week" on your title card? If so would you be so kind as to direct me to where I might get it?

Many thanks

I took it from a freebie from Ali Edwards. The whole brush says "one little week". I just erased the rest of the words. You can find it here

hope that helps.
