Project Life Week 17

I just want to start out by saying how excited I am about the new plastic's from Becky Higgins. They arrived at Amazon last night and I was thrilled.  If you haven't taken a peek yet, I would highly recommend it !!

Photo is from Becky Higgins blog

Anyways, back to the blog post. Week 17 is now done. A basic week around the house, spent a lot of time outside. And we had my mom here for a visit, we always love that.

FIRST PAGE :

THE PICTURES :

Used this brush.

We bought a swing set for the backyard.

Used Ali Edwards Circle Of Life Brush.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

LEFT SIDE : The happy banner I believe is from Dear Lizzy Neapolitan . Letters from October Afternoon.

TIP #1 OF THE DAY. Most of you might already know, but I'm going to share anyways. If you don't want the xtra bulkiness of chipboard pieces on your pages, or journaling cards, peel the extra layers off. I do this all the time with the chipboard pieces I put into my PL album. I strip them down to just the paper layer so that I can fit more into my album !!

RIGHT SIDE : I found a picture from online about the Hunger Games and sized it to fit right onto the journaling card. Put our ticket stubs on top and called it good.

LEFT SIDE :

Washi tape, and a heart brush from Ali Edwards. Arrow from Studio Calico.

RIGHT SIDE :  Sticker from Echo Park Note to Self. Butterflies are from Studio Calico.

THE SECOND PAGE :

THE PICTURES :

Use this brush.

Patrick spent the weekend building garden grow boxes and then putting them in the ground. Not an easy thing !!

Used a word from here .

Added Washi tape a flower and hello.

TIP #2 OF THE DAY :  If you are running out of letters in your letter sticker sheets. Try to look and see if you can use one of the other letters and then use a pen to make a new letter.  For example I took an F and turned it into and e for my HELLO below. I also used the C and turned it into and O. You can't tell unless you look really, really close.

You Are Awesome Brush from Ali Edwards .

Pictures of Noah from the weekend.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

LEFT SIDE :

A strip of Washi tape down the side. All the stickers are from Jillibean Soup Coconut Soup collection(except for the letter stickers) which is all about spring, gardening, and such.

 RIGHT SIDE :

I used this great Spring freebie card.  Placed it over the yellow journaling card in photoshop. Reduced the opacity of the freebie card so that I could see where the letters would end up when i printed it out onto the yellow card. I then moved the words around so that they would print where I wanted them on the card and printed. I love the end result, I wanted something else besides a white background card. ** Also changed the colors of the words to match.

LEFT SIDE :

I used a Studio Calico journaling card. Added the word grandma from Ali Edwards family brush and then added the other letters and the number 27 for the date.

RIGHT SIDE :

I outlined the REAL LIFE that is on the journaling card so that it would stand out more. Added the arrow rubon from Jenni Bowlin.

That is the end of week 17.

I just wanted to let you know that the kids and I are leaving for Utah on Sunday for 2 weeks. So I will plan on doing some photo only posts while I am there. I need to share our beach photos. But unfortunately no Project Life posts until I get back.  Thanks for the understanding. Hope this post will tide you guys over until I get back.

Happy Summer to everyone. Go have some fun and enjoy this great time of the year.

Project Life Week 16

Project Life Week 16 | April 16 - 22

I was almost convinced that this week was never going to get done. I had started editing the photos from this week while I was on vacation. They ended up on my laptop, because that is what I took on vacation with me.

Fast forward to about 2 weeks ago. Long story short, I couldn't figure out how to get them from my laptop to the mac, the network wasn't working. Had to wait for hubby to fix the problem.

The next hurdle was that, out of the blue I ran out of a color for the printer. There was no warning light, no flashing light like it normally would. It went from being fine to out !!  It has never done that.

So I order ink. Tried new company through amazon, cause it was a little cheaper. Not a fan, after waiting 5 days for it to ship, reordered it straight through amazon. Got my happy little amazon box today !! Yeah !! And that leads me to this post. It is finally done and complete. Talk about frustration people !! I was going through major print withdraws.  Now I am all stocked up on ink and ready to go.

Now that I told you all about my little pity party, moving on.

THE FIRST PAGE :

THE PICTURES :

I used this Ali Edwards brush. And printed it out on some of the extra Clementine cardstock and then punched the bottom. Butterfly is from Studio Calico.

Used a brush from the Cobalt Digital Extra Elements. Changed the color to match the clementine collection.

This is what my mornings look like. Checking my email, blogs, ect.

THE JOURNALING CARDS :

LEFT SIDE :

I had a bigger story to tell so I used a foldable journaling card. P went to Denver to do what they call a "Break Out" presentation. He has been working all year to be able to "Break Out". Means, a work truck, a raise, and field bonuses. So it is a BIG deal.

Used Basic Grey letters. Heart from Studio Calico. Tap from October Afternoon. And some fun ribbon on the bottom.  I was going to make a slit on the top with my exacto knife so that you could take the card out. But I couldn't find it today. So I will do it later.

RIGHT SIDE :

Used this cute freebie card. Change the color of the background to match and added the letters onto the card.

Journaling talks about our 5K that we ran.

LEFT SIDE :

Found the word from one of Ali Edwards title boxes. Found here. Just erased what I didn't need.

P took this picture from his hotel room window in Denver. Where he went to give his "Break Out" presentation.

RIGHT SIDE :

Washi tape. The sticker is from October Afternoon 9-5.

THE LAST PAGE : This page was dedicated to the weekend.

THE PICTURES :

We went to my now sister-in-laws bridal shower over the weekend at a cute little tea shop. Used a Martha Stewart doilie.

Added some ephemera from the weekend.  Our receipt from the car rental. I used a foldable journaling card and stapled the receipt right on top. I love the Tim Holtz tiny attacher.

Washi tape, stickers from Authentique. Arrow from Studio Calico.

Week 16 Done.

How is everyone's summer ? I have been staying crazy busy. With the battles out in the garden with bugs, and disease. With the swim lessons, the constant beggings to go to the pool. I think this summer is going to be dubbed "the goggle summer". The kids are obsessed, they wear them around the house, to the dinner table, and in the car, it is so funny.  We are always in the water, or out in the backyard with the hose going. It has been hot here, we are talking over 100 people. I have also been busy with trying to get the house more organized and making it more like "HOME". I spray painted a mirror for the wall and put it up today. I love it and can't wait to do some more home decorating. Well, enough about me.  Have a great rest of the week and weekend everyone.

I have to go finish getting ready for a well needed BEACH DAY tomorrow.

Project Life Week 15

I pushed through and got another week done of PL. Going simple, I guess simple for me, still. I am so far behind, but that is okay. I enjoy making my spreads so why really rush the process and end up not liking it right ? That is what I keep telling myself.

Week 15 | Things around home and then a trip to Utah.

A Wedding celebration

My little brother, actually my only sibling, got married over the weekend. I can't believe it !!

It was an amazing weekend, the whole thing was just magical. I got to spent time with my family, see my kids be flower girls and a ring bearer.  The wedding site was stunning. And it was one of the best parties that I have been to.

I wanted to share some of the magic with you all today, hope you don't mind.

We arrived on the wedding morning at the wedding venue ( The bride's aunts home ). We spent a lot of time transforming the place into a little wedding wonderland. There were these all over the place.

and more here

There is an amazing story behind these little colorful beauties. And why they were the main focal color point throughout the wedding . . .  but it would take too long to tell. So just take my word for it.

My two flower girls. They were so cute in their handmade dresses !! Playing around while we waited our turn for group pictures.

Now this guy was another story. Sickness, tiredness, and not liking his clothing arrangement made for a grumpy and uncooperative little ring bearer.

Grandpa was kind enough to step in as cameraman for me so I could get a family picture.

We were trying to get him un-grumpy !!

Instead of a wedding cake they decided to do a cookie bar. And as you can see they like robots !!

Bride and groom robots

This is the ring pillow. Isn't it the cutest thing you have ever seen !!

Crying before his big job of walking the pillow down the aisle.  Patrick trying to talk him into it.

Ready to throw their pedals

We finally got Noah to walk out with his big sister.

I think he finally took the robot to give to his uncle

Grandpa and Maddie

The two handsome men in my life

Me and my girls

They had an amazing food truck come and park in the driveway.  Order what you wanted.

Notice #1. The bunny ears. #2. Noah trying to make bunny ears. So funny.

The nights beautiful abeyance.

Thanks for letting me share some of my wonderful weekend adventure with you. Have a happy 4th of July everyone.
