As I was putting my day together I knew that not every day was going to be the same. I am quite all right with that. Some people like consistency. Some do not.
For instance this first page. I am pretty sure that I am going to start every day with a 6x8 photo as below. I love the look of a white border around my photos and I will stick with that theme throughout. But that might be the end of my consistency.
This photo is not the best quality but I am not going to let it bother me. It is a photo of what usually happens every afternoon. Typically after school I let them wind down and watch a show on netflix. Sometimes they have to wait until their homework is done, chores, ect. Sometimes they watch right away. But this is the scene, Noah on the couch and Maddie immediately getting a snack because she is starving.
The other side acts as a page divider. Michaels has these 12x12 sheets of transparencies right now and I knew that it would make a great divider. I added the hello monday circle in the middle and called it good.
Here is what the other side looks like. I plan on adding something to the backside of the hello monday chipboard piece. I need to get a 2 inch circle punch.
I used one of the 3x8 photo templates from Ali Edwards. I love the hybrid look and created a hybrid page here. I printed out the actual template onto white cardstock and trimmed it down. I cropped the photos to size using photoshop and then printed them out onto photo paper. I adhered the photos onto the cardstock and added a few fun embellishments.
One more note : I believe Monday might have been the only day I got photos of all three meals.
On the other side of the 3x8 is a story about FRED the frog. I created another hybrid page. Again another template from Ali Edwards.
I used the same technique as before. I printed off the template minus the photo onto white cardstock.
The blue letter stickers fit perfectly across the template and then I added a stamp and a star. At the bottom of the page I added a label from Kellie Stamps.
The other side has the 4x6 Monday card from the Ali Edwards Week In The Life Kit and then a photo collage I created.
These two photos went together well because they were both part of our AM story. I snuck in to wake Katelyn up and snapped a photo. I wish the blue blanket wasn't in the photo but I wasn't about to move it and wake her up. She always sleeps with 3 or 4 blankets every night. The other photo is when we were running late and I had to drive them to the bus stop.
In the middle of the two photos I added in a few digital brushes and a gold star.
Moving on to the other side. This page has a random mix of photos and journaling cards. I love how this one turned out. The mix of black and white with the pops of colors.
The top pocket has some journaling about the morning and afternoon. I added one of the rubber pieces from the kit onto the top part, adding the circle stamp from the kit in the middle of the acrylic start shaped embellishment.
The photo down below was a capture of when Patrick came home from work. The kids always ask if Daddy's going to be home soon. They went out to play in the front yard and wait for daddy. I snapped the photo from inside the front door way. Love how this one turned out.
One the other side I added in a 3x4 pocket page to hold photos and journaling. This first photo is of Maddie eating the strawberries that I had bought earlier that morning.
On the other side I stapled the white M from the Kit and added a few embellishments. The wood veneer is from Color Cast Designs and I ordered those for this particular project. There is a pack of them with all the days of the week. I plan on adding one to each day somewhere throughout the album.
Here is a look at the bottom cards. The journaling card was from the kit and I added the boxed Monday stamp onto the journaling card and I love it. These fun stamps I could seriously use every day. They were from the Ali Edwards Day In The Life kit and I am so glad I have them.
The photo is of me checking in on all my social media sites right after the kids were off to school. This is very typical. Me in my glasses and pajamas looking at my phone for a few minutes.
The other side holds more fun things from Monday.
It seems like that I am always taking photos of things and then sharing them online. I wanted to share this insert I made from a little porch upgrade. I also made a filler card from an Ali Edwards overlay which I shrunk down and made one of the Mondays red to match my spread. I think I want to add a card similar to this everyday, it would be fun.
The bottom cards are a journaling card that has the number 1 on it. I debated back and forth about these numbers. What was I going to do with them, use them or not use them. How was I going to use them. I decided to use them and I will figure it out as I go. I added the number 1 here. Not my favorite but it will do. I added the story of Noah being wrapped up in a baby burrito onto the journaling card that is next to his photo.
It turned out that when I thought I was finished with the day I had some more journaling I needed to get into the album. I decided to add another photo and stick my journaling onto the backside. I went with a photo of my favorite chips that I have recently discovered. Oh yumm.
My last pages of Monday look like this.
Once both of these were printed out I adhered them both back to back and punched holes to add them directly into the album. I love the look of it not in a page protector.
I used one of the journaling card that comes in the kit, using the digital version to print this one out. I added the afternoon stamp from Kellie Stamps as well. It told the funny story about how " Mean Mom " always had to come out and play ! Loved the end result.
In the early beginning stages of planning out this album I thought that it would be fun to have a photo collage every day or at least most days. I saw these fun digital brushes from Ali and decided to use one of them each day. As sort of a loose theme. I could add in photos that fit under the theme.
Todays theme was WE GO. I went to the gym for my 8:30 am zumba class and then on to Trader Joes. That night me and Katelyn went and did some school related errands. I made this page in photoshop and am so happy with the way it turned out.
Here is a closer look at the bottom.
That is all I have for Monday of Week In The Life. I am probably about half way done with Tuesday right now. I had some Design Team projects that I had to take care of. I will share more as I get it all finished. Did anyone else tackle Week In The Life as well or are planning on it ?
See you next time.
