Project Life Week 2

Week 2 | January 9 - 15

Week 2 is done. I really had fun putting it all together. WAY to much fun, which is why it took me forever to put it together. I added things, took them away, moved stuff around, ect. I think I have figured out what I love and what I don't. So next week should go much faster. Let's hope. Here we go.

The first page :

Trucks. My iphone. Working on the computer. Patrick and Maddie on the ipad.

The pictures :

Noah's trucks that he loves to push around. The scalloped circle and heart from October Afternoon. I am in love with their farmhouse line. The colors are just about a perfect match to the Clementine kit. Monday sticker from Jillibean soup. ** Note : Learned this week that I need to buy a small heart punch. In love with these little hearts.

Patrick comes home for lunch when he works in the office. They spent some ipad time together. Days + Months Hand drawn brushes.

The journaling cards

Took a heart from Ali Edwards Life In Pictures Brushes And Stamps . Added the word iphone. Sticker from October Afternoon Flyer Pack . Love this pack.

This one is from This great freebie.
Changed the color of the star to match my week. This whole week was great and this card was perfect to sum up my feelings.

Used a doile from Little Yellow Bicycle. The circle sticker from Crate Paper. The black letters from Thickers. The blue letter stickers from October Afternoon.
This is one of those foldable journaling cards. I knew I needed more room for the story of taking Noah in to the ER and this was perfect.

I used the digital card as a reference for my journaling and just left some room in the middle of the card so that I could fold it. Ran it through my printer.

Continued on the backside. Included his arm band on the back.

I took the top off of the original pink card and put it on to a plain grid card so that I could have more room to journal. The arrows are from the Clementine digital extra elements set. Colored them in to match my colors for the week. Told two stories on one journaling card.  Using the arrows to point to the pictures. Included the dates with the number stickers.

I added one inserts this week. We celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary this week. So I took Patrick out with the camera and tripod for a photo. It is 6x12.

The other side. I copied and pasted journaling from a blog post that I written that week. Used a Words and Stories 6x12 Layered Template.  Moved some things around to meet my needs.Used some of my My Minds Eye stash. Simple and done.

The second page :

The park. Patrick at early morning rig up. The coil that Patrick works with. Playing trains on the floor with Noah and Maddie. Design team meeting. Anniversary food.

The pictures :

Go Outside Brushes And Stamps

Word morning from Everday Life Journaling Prompts Brushes and Stamps.

Everyday Life Journaling Prompts Brushes and Stamps

I LOVE that Patrick takes these kinds of pictures. This is his day and I love that I can include that in my album. This is the coil that they send down the oil well.

The Journaling Cards :

I love this thread. It's called Divine Thread and they have all the colors that match the Clementine kit. I used the star stamp underneath my journaling. Just stamped it on before sending it through the printer. The blue letter stickers are from Authentique.  Small sticker from October Afternoon Farmhouse.

Smash pad sheet from here. Bought at Amazon but you can find them at scrapbook.com, ect. Letter stickers from October Afternoon.

I used another one of the foldable journaling cards. This one will be filled out by Patrick about the job he was working on. Scalloped circle from Jillibean Soup. Yellow thickers. Blue letter stickers from American Crafts. Added a rubon arrow.

Printed of a little strip of the digital paper from the Clementine digital paper kit. The yellow on the top. Need to maybe get the paper pack. Label from October Afternoon. Blue sticker words from Authentique.  Creme letter stickers from October Afternoon. The red heart from October Afternoon Farmhouse Flower Stack. LOVE this pack !! The colors are perfect for this album and I am in love with these cute little hearts.

Well that covers Week 2. As you can see I used three main colors this week. Went with them based on my photos and love the result. See you all next time.

I'm new to PL this year and I love how you add all the extras to your pages! I really want to start printing on the journaling cards and possibly using some of the digital elements. I'm just now starting to play around with digital scrapbboking but it is a bit overwhelming! Any advice on how to start with this? Is there a trick to being able to print on the journaling card and still leave room for embellishments? Thanks again for sharing your layouts!

LWase - Thanks for your comments ! The trick is all about planning. For me, I have the physical paper card in front of me and then I pull up the digital journaling card in photoshop. Then I plan where my embellishments are going to go. I can then see how much room I have for my journaling. The grid cards, and the lines are great ways to measure where to put your journaling onto the card. If you haven't already check out my tutorials. There is one that I walk you through how I put some embellishments onto the card. (located top right under TUTORIALS). Also there are many great tutorials out there about adding journaling to your cards, if you haven't seen them already. Becky has one on her site as well as Jessica Sprague. Let me know if there are any specific questions you have. I would be glad to try to help out ! Thanks again.
