Project Life Week 1 2013

Week 1 of 2013. A new year. A new PL kit. Lots of new fun to be had.

I did get to finish my week 1 yesterday. I am loving the colors of the seafoam kit. They are colors that are going in the new home. Lots of grays, yellows, and of course my favorite blue.

The first page of week 1.

. . . includes a selfy pic in the mirror of the childrens museum bathroom. Hey, I had some time to kill. I've got three kids !! Grandma cookies, our house at the time, and a true story.

Again, a selfy shot. Thought that I would write some things down about this current year that I wanted to improve on. Not a great shot of the photo but I'm trying.

The 2013 are Fancy Pants stickers. The brush was taken from Ali Edwards Embracing The Everyday .

We were up in Utah visiting Grandma and Grandpa over New Years. New Years day Grandma and the kids made cookies. I love to turn those busy photos, the less than stellar photos, to black and white and am going to do more of that this year. I think it helps out a lot.

This was the current status and sight of our new house. That week anyways. Wait till you see it now. Wow !! What a difference a few weeks make ! I'm getting sooooo excited.

The brush is an oldy, but goody from Ali E.

I started out with the Happy New Year freebie from Cathy Z.  Changed the whole background to gray. Added the Date and my journaling and printed.

I really wanted to add this picture into week 1 but couldn't find a place for it. I decided to use two journaling places for it.But that left me with no spot for the journaling about the picture and the story behind it. So I came up with the idea of placing a journaling card onto the photo ! Bingo. Problem solved.

Here is what it looked like in photoshop before I printed it out and cut it in half to fit into my page 1. I made sure that the card was situated exactly where I would need to cut the picture in half.

The card is from the seafoam kit. The fun arrow is from a facebook fan freebie. Click the link to go to her facebook page and then you can download the freebie.

Here is the card all printed out and cut apart.

We have been going to the house a lot to see the changes and updates. So be prepared to see at least one picture of the house a week while they are building it !!

The second page. Swimsuits in January, yes only my kids. Laundry, play time together, and a girls picnic.

Post vacation laundry is the pits ! Brush from here. I reduced the opacity on the Thursday.

I used one of my leftover Studio Calico kit cards and then stamped together on it.

The chipboard letters are from American Crafts Studio Calico. Stars are also from Studio Calico.

To make the circle I used an old circle journaling brush that I had. It originally had words around the circle. I simply erased the words and it left this great circle that I could use. I'm sure you could find a simple circle brush or create one in photoshop.

**Here is a great tutorial on how to do your own circle journaling in photoshop.  Click HERE.**

The card recaps the comings and goings of the week. Starting with our drive home.

Used one of the bi folding cards from the seafoam kit. The sticker on the top is from October Afternoon, they have the best plain label stickers. I added letters from Fancy Pants. Stars are from Studio Calico. Just journaled onto the card and folded it into my slot. ** forgot to take a photo of the whole card ** If I get time I will get a photo and update the post for you.

I added some fun photos of Noah and Patrick on the tramp (can you spot his shoes). Used the same arrow from the previous journaling card. Added the date with the number 5.

 Used this freebie.

Changed the background color to white and also changed the colors of the camera to match the seafoam colors. So fun.

Took the circle inspiration from Emily. You can find her blog here. My little Noah is now in Primary in our church. It is a big change from nursery to primary and I love how Emily made a circle. Scraplifted it and made my own circle. The sun is from Studio Calico. Stamped the grid pattern onto it from my grid stamp from Hero Arts.

And that it is the end of week 1. Phew. You made it. So much fun.

I really did have so much fun with this week. It was a little rough in the beginning, changed a few things but am happy with the end result. I'm sure these next few weeks will go more smoothly.

How is your album coming along ? Are you playing along with me ? I hope so.

Until next time. Happy Scrappin ladies.
